Hello, again. How about trying to clear the current settings by completely cutting power? Disconnect it from the wall outlet. Remove the chassis cover. Look for the circuit board battery. Remove it and leave everything be for a few minutes. Then replace the battery and cover. Reconnect it to power and try the password as a blank. You might want to make sure, however, that removing the chassis cover will not void any warranty. In that case, you may want to check with your warranty holder for the default password or its method of reset. Sometimes the board itself might have a reset button or a pair of pins that can be shorted with a jumper to do the factory reset. HTH

Hello. Since you have the DVR behind two routers, it just might be easier to use a p2p connection, if the DVR supports it.

I have a Swann 1080A 4 camera system DVR-84600 not working
GadgetAssistant replied to Tom Fleming's topic in Introductions
Hello. Try a new power adapter. You should be able to get one from Swann, if the DVR is still under warranty. If it is not the power adapter, it could be the hard drive. If it is neither the adapter nor the hard drive, then it is time to consider getting a new DVR. If the device has warranty you definitely want to contact Swann or any extended warranty holder. -
Can I access my PTZ camera without logging in to my NVR?
GadgetAssistant replied to howuduin's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Hello. It might be easier to create an account on the NVR that specifically only permits any sort of access to that particular camera. This solution depends on the NVR having that capability, of course. -

Dahua model DVR-9116HFI-H16 rebooting loop issue
GadgetAssistant replied to RIPE's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hello. Some things do bear repeating. It could be a bad power adapter. It could be a bad hard drive. It could be a bad DVR. In the event of any repairs, you may want to consider the above mentioned order when effecting any repairs. It is possible for a brownout or blackout to damage a power adapter. Especially and older one. -

Help with Determining http URL Address
GadgetAssistant replied to Aaron407's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello. On a PC at the location of the IP camera type into your search engine, "what is my IP" That should return to you the public IP address which is the address you want to use when you are away from the camera. if that still is not working then you may have to check the router and somehow forward the IP camera port so the connection works both inside and outside the network. -
Help with Determining http URL Address
GadgetAssistant replied to Aaron407's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello. Have you tried logging on to your router to check and see if any new local IP addresses have populated the client list? That info along with the right port should work at least locally and that could be a start. -

Are my choices okay, or can you recommend something better?

Hello. The best video recorder in the world is useless unless you can navigate its user interface. If you have an opportunity to try each device's interface it may help you decide which is best. -
Hello. You may want to have your ISP bridge the TP-Link DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. If it is also providing a firewall, you can either have it bridged or forward the DVR ports there also using the TP-Link AC1200 (Archer C5) Wireless Router assigned local IP.

Forward internal IP address for NVR network interfaces
GadgetAssistant replied to serverman2020's topic in Computers/Networking
Hello. As long as the cameras are are properly connected to the NVR and are visible on the directly connected TV or monitor, do not worry about the cameras IP as assigned by the NVR switch nor the port it may indicate. The port or ports that do matter are the NVR's defined ports that you may find on the NVR's network submenu, usually the same page where you see the NVR IP. In your case you indicated it as 192.168.0.195. Using a web browser on a computer connected to the same router to which the NVR is connected, type http://192.168.0.1. This should connect you to your router where the port forwarding gets done. Of course, I am making an educated guess that your router would be found at 192.168.0.1. 'ipconfig' from a command prompt should show your local gateway if it is not the aforementioned local IP address. portforward.com is a handy repository for the specifics on performing port forwarding for a lot of different types of routers. Cannot view DVR on internet or cell app
GadgetAssistant replied to love777's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hello. Even though your DVR may have a static local IP address, your ISP may from time to time cause your router to acquire a new public IP address. Typing "what is my IP" into a google search from a computer at the same place as the DVR can help you check that out. -
Hello. Try powering the camera from an outlet as close to the camera as possible. The longer the cable run, the more likely that the current will drop in the cable due to attenuation.

Hello. You did not mention how the microphone is powered. Most video recorders cannot use a passive microphone.
