    mY DVR is not working

Does the DVR boot up with the hard drive disconnected? Of course, if you are going to disconnect the DVR's hard drive, make sure you disconnect it from power before you remove the cover.
  2. Hello. If it is a newer DVR with a connection to the internet, it may have a sub menu with a means of manually checking for a firmware update. Sometimes rebooting the DVR will cause it to check for a firmware update, if it is connected to the internet.

Replacement Hard Drive for Qvis CCTV

Hello. When the DVR is indicating there is no hard drive, you might want to start out by considering a power issue. If the DVR is out of warranty, replacing the DVR's adapter or power supply might be an inexpensive start. Then you can move on to replacing the hard drive, if needed. The manufacturer might have some information on the specifications for an acceptable replacement for the hard drive, if you cannot find an exact replacement for what came with the DVR. Hard drives these days have the controller on the board, so if making sure that power is not the issue doesn't do it, just consider replacing the whole hard drive. If that doesn't do it then it is time to look for a new DVR that can use the new hard drive, adapter, and the old cameras...

    Defender SN501 - Network Software

Hello. Not much of a coder, at all, But here is some info for you to consider. 1. If the DVR has a camera connected to each channel you will want to consider having 2Mbps available on your LAN for local viewing and an upload speed of the same bandwidth for remote viewing. From the DVR manual it would appear the system is analog and it comes with 420TVL cameras. The bandwidth requirement would be higher if the system were high def. 2. Access to the ActiveX Library seems to be necessary for most DVR systems' hosted web sites. 3. Chrome can be a good alternative to Internet Explorer with IE tabs installed. 4. On the mobile device, I have found Asee or IP Cam Viewer Lite works with alot of different systems. HTH

    P2P connection IP camera

Hello. peer-to-peer (adjective) denoting or relating to computer networks in which each computer, or network device, can act as a server for the others, allowing shared access to files and peripherals without the need for a central server.
  6. Hello. Consider using the IP address assigned to the computer to which the card is installed for any local viewing. Any phone or PC trying to view would have to be connected to the same Pace router.

Motion detection only seems to be working sometimes?

Hello. If the DVR reverted back to a factory default state after a power outage, it may be that the circuit board battery needs replacing. You might want to check with Swann if there is still a warranty to have them replace it for you.

    DVR NETWORK SETTINGS

192.168.001.203 is a local IP address so using that address only works when the phone or tablet with the installed app is also part of the local network. This is an important check before you can move on to establishing a connection at a distance with the router's wide area network IP or even the DVR's ID.

COP XT Series - Cant access via webpage

Hello. Some DVR's require that active x controls should be available for the web service to work using the Internet Explorer. Chrome might work after installing the IE tabs extension.
  13. Hello. I do believe you answered your own question. Don't mix analog and AHD cameras. Keep the AHD cameras on channel 4 or below and the analog camera on channel 5 or above.
  14. Hello. If those two cameras are stuck in night vision mode, using a a flashlight to shock them back into day mode may be a way to go. If that doesn't do it or if you have to do it repeatedly, it may be that the camera has a bad sensor.

    DVR NETWORK SETTINGS

Have you tried setting the address on the xmeye or dplayer app as simply 192.168.1.203. Also be sure to leave off any leading zeros on the port you are using. Depending on the app, you will probably want to consider using either the server or mobile port. Also those settings will only work on your wifi.

My dvr can not boot up

Hello. It could be a hard disk issue. Make sure you are using the correct power adapter for the DVR. If the DVR has an internal power supply that may need to be checked in addition to checking the hard drive connections. Booting up the DVR without any cameras connected might help getting past the "please wait..." screen if the DVR's hard drive needs to be formatted.

Hello. Three suggestions. Sir Isaac Newton's treatise on Opticks. Delton Horn's Basic Electrical Theory With Projects. Any one of the dummies or idiots books that goes over IP networking. Those are some basic sources I can cite that have helped after stumbling onto this sort of work. If you happen to be taking some relevant coursework, pay attention to the instructor. If you have a manual for whatever equipment you are working with, read it.

    HIKVISION Network query

According to the iVMS-4500 overview: "With this software installed in your phone, you are able to log onto the front-end device via Wi-Fi or 3G; besides, if there is no public IP available for the device, it’s accessible by using a dynamic domain name, or by mapping ports to the public IP of router."

    Avigilon camera server.

This sounds like something a raspberry pi should be able to do. Otherwise, Avigilon seems to have hardware solutions that should work with Avigilon cameras.
  24. You might also want to check with the DDNS service. The outages may be on their end.
