Slow / Poor Performance Blue Iris and IP Cameras
ibby posted a topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi guys, I have and analog system which I am in the process of converting. It consists of 6 x analog Cameras 1x Dedicated Micros 16ch DVR. all has been working but I want to virtualize the environment on to my server. Server spec 2 x Quad Core 2.4gig processors. 48 GIG Ram. 73gb raid 1 boot drive 1x Raid 1 1TB array - Virtual Machine boot drive 1x Raid 1 2 TB Data Storage 1x Raid 10 900GB - CCTV Recording 2x non raid backup drives. all my drives are sas enterprise drives. (apart from the backup drives they are sata ultrastars) Virtual Machine Specs. 6 Virtual Cpus 1.5GB Virtual memory dynamic can take up to 6GB Server 2008 with all patches. 30 gig boot drive. - Located on the 1TB array Raid 1 500GB virtual drive created on the 900gb cctv drive Blueiris installed - Trial version. Videojet10 encoder. Dedicated 1gb network card plugged into a dedicated switch for the cameras / encoder. The issue I have is slow performance of the record side within blue iris example I can go to 10.32.254.55 - IP of my camera and can select live view and the frame rate is quick even at high resolution. However for me to able to read the stream off the encoder I have to use snap.jpg?jpegsize=XL in IE this produces a static image, which changes when you refresh it. Within blue iris the image changes but very very slowly eg 1/2 fps but sometimes drops to 0.5fps. very little cpu usage very little being written to the drives. very little network usage. It seems blue iris is not possibly refreshing the image quickly Ideas? -
Hi guys, Just wondering if someone can give me some guidance please. I currently have a Dedicated Micros DS2 DVR with 4 cameras. My setup is Anolog and I am looking to expand my system in the near future. The I have had the Micros DS2 DVR for a while now and have been pretty happy with it, untill recently, it sounds like one of the two hard drives inside has started to "wine". It is rack mounted into a full height rack. Within this rack I have a very powerful always on server, Its a server 2012 128gig ram, SATA and SAS hard drives and a 2x Quadcore cpu. I have a raid 1 and 2x raid 10. The Raid 1 is the server OS and the raid 10s are data storage. Each raid 10 is able to push through around 300MBS. Since all of my CCTV equipment is aging I have been thinking recently to start to replace it all with IP based system and my anolog cctv qauality isnt fantasic. My house is already wired to CAT6 and I have a dedicated PSU for the cameras. What I would like to do is to setup a Virtulised CCTV recording system. I have already build a Windows 7 x64 bit os machine with 8 gig of ram (i have around 20 gig free) and assigned 8 virtual processors (this is the maximum ammount i can assign). When benchamarking the virtual machin on horsepower on the cpu side is around 50% utlisation, I currenltly have 2x qad core 1600 cpus, on the shelf I have 2xquad core 2500 cpus that can be inserted if needed. I have have a google around and have seen freeware cctv recorders like zoneminder ispyconnect blueiris and various others. So the question is how should I go about doing this ? I have plenty of space on the server, its a quiter running machine and I have plenty of capacity. I am looking for software suggestions, I dont mind paying alittle for software to get better functunality, I want something thats going to be robust and not crash every 5 minutes.. Has anyone done what I am looking at doing ?

Help needed with software solution
ibby posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, before i start to ramble on about the problem, i do not know any thing about cctv, iam just trying to help some one. They are using a program called safeking to view and monitor the diffrent cameras. All is well when you are sitting at the PC, however when you try to remotley dailin, and look at the camera all you get is a Blue screen, in place of the image! I have tried Remmote desktop (in windows) and also tried logme in both resemble the same problem. can any one give me some advise on what software i can run so the client can view the cameras when hes away and off site. I hope this is the right section. edit they are not IP cameras but BNC.
