Avigilon and Sony 360 degree SNCHM662 camera
thewireguys replied to kyee's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Use Panomorph A0**V then once you back out of the camera setup you will be able to dewarp the image. Make all your configuration changes in the camera's web GUI. Motion detection does not work so 24/7 recording is your only option. -
Avigilon dropped the price of the 4K camera so we have been selling alot of them recently. 4K, Lowlight and Analytics Hik has a bunch of 4K's out now though I haven't tested one yet.

Sample image from Axis 4K camera. No where close to Avigilon's 4K

I noticed the dahua 4K is only 7fps.. how bad (or still good) is 7fps? Would you rather have 25fps 3mp? Is there anyone a PRO member of the following who can share at least a summary of how the dahua 4k perform in say low light? http://ipvm.com/report/dahua-4k-test To find out, we tested Dahua's HFW4800E against 4K cameras from Axis (P1428-E) and Bosch (Dinion 8000) in full light, low light, and WDR scenes to see how they compare. The complete report is available only to PRO Members. I'm a pro member, it did pretty well (smashed the axis) still don't like it I think IPVM has a lemon Axis 4K camera as the one we have has a much sharper image. Though the low light and challenging lighting is no better.

IP cameras over siamese cable
thewireguys replied to mgural01's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Those are nice for special situations but its almost always cheaper to run new ethernet and no need to mount that enclosure anywhere... If it is cheaper to pull new cable then that makes sense... For the projects we use them on it's way more cost effective to use these then to pull new cable not to mention we would have to pull fiber since some of the coax runs are 1500+ ft -

Advanced Motion Detection

I am sorry for Exacq's and Hikvisions Smart Search isn't even in the same league as Avigilon's. -
You will need a switch with POE.
-
From what you are telling us the Hik CMS software is connecting to the NVR NOT the cameras. Avigilon will connect to your Hik cameras but it will not connect to your NVR. That is not how this work.
-
You need to remove your Hikvision NVR from your network. Unplug it and then plug your IP cameras into a POE switch and then connect the POE switch to your network.
-
What is the IP address of your server? What is the IP address of one of your cameras? Are they on the same subnet? Are your cameras connected to a Hikvision NVR or are they installed on your network?

Bullet vs Dome: Tradeoffs?
thewireguys replied to PeteCress's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Bullets tend to have better IR and a better image because they are not looking though curved glass (easier to focus) . Also they tend to stay cleaner in our experience. -
Trying to enhance a still picture from a license plate

Your choice Now How would u like me to prove it ? 1.you log to my comp with Team viewer 2.I will sent to you original Avigilon clip (.ave format u will have to use Avigilon player ) pick and choose Boogieman Prove it by manipulating the image on your pc step by step and show me... And i want to see the original video to ensure that the original was washed out and that you did not purposely was out a clear image...there is no way to add those dark pixels from a washed out image like that... If you don't believe Alex I have a 20 or 30 clips you can look at too. -

Weird Avigilon Control Center System Event
thewireguys replied to xavier4or's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Set your client to the default setting do not set a Maximum. Your client CPU is so high because your decoding the full HD stream on cameras which is not needed. Change the setting to defualt which will use HDSM. -
Waltec has the best super low light cameras I have seen. http://www.wateccameras.com/

Weird Avigilon Control Center System Event
thewireguys replied to xavier4or's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
By default windows updates time once a week. Time can drift 15+ seconds so if the time drifts enough this can cause this issue. -
Weird Avigilon Control Center System Event
thewireguys replied to xavier4or's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Avigilon stamps time at the server not at the camera so time change on the camera shouldn't cause this issue. What are you using for a NTP server for your system? -

We have been testing the Hik Darkfighter also. Impressive in low light but it's huge! -
Hikvision 4K bullet cam - DS-2CD4A85F-IZ(H)(S)
thewireguys replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Everyone is getting there hopes up for 4K and outstanding image quality. In my experience 4K looks great in evenly lit areas but soon as you have shadows or low light the image just doesn't cut it. 4K cameras need better WDR and low light before they get mainstream. -
