Where to get CCTV Design software

I would recommend you charge your customers for thus service.
  2. I would think that would be closer to 5K
  3. Chris, I have the 1080P and the 5MP Jpeg2000 cameras on my demo server. When I have time I can get you some shots.
  4. ??? why would you use a 11MP camera when a 5MP does the trick? Also the Pro cameras are not D/N only day or night. "..or night".. The name is this.. yes.. ( "-M" Monochrome)... but you tried "& night time & with lights ..." It's very strange that in Avigilon Gallery there is not any video sample with this PRO cameras ..during the night.. in outdoor.. with lights (as cars .. for example..) Thewireguys, would you post any images of your PRO-M camera night test/with lights?? They do have night shots from the PRO cameras but they are on the dealer site
  5. Netgear has a new 8port POE switch without fans

    Selecting fast megapixel lenses

  10. Yes this makes sense if your logging into the cameras directly but if your using VMS this is not needed. Also if you have a computer on site you can log into the computer then log into the cameras from that machine. Opening up ports to each camera is an unnecessary security risk.
  11. Are you putting this into your own housings or are you just talking about the camera itself? Can you post images of your setup that would help.

    Fiber: single or multimode?

For 200M and less yes. For 2000M and less no.

    Hosted solution

Rory the cameras also have built in storage and the "lock box" will do nothing if there is a fire or water.

    Hosted solution

With the Axis solution they have a local storage option. Also Rory keep in mind there is no DVR/NVR to steal.

    Covert Camera Housings

Have you done this before? If you haven't your in for a big surprise. You will burn up stuff like there is no tomorrow. Ask me how I know. PC mother boards, hard drives, and power supplies will burn up every July. Most cameras have a 120 degree limit. If you put a PC outside it will need an environmental enclosure like these: http://www.ddbunlimited.com By the time you add the heat and AC package to them your looking at about 5 to 8G's per enclosure. Thanks for the link but I need enclosures with windows Yes I have. We have cameras out in the field with routers and 3g/4g connectivity in heated/cooled housings without any issues. I am building the same thing just in a different box.

    Hosted solution

Exacq or Milestone will not work for this. I have tried the whole "VSaaS" and it is a great idea but not very easy to sell or implement. We did a test run with 3 customers and a hosted setup. All three received letters from there ISP's stating they exceed their monthly bandwidth and would be shut down. If I where going to offer this setup (I tried to sell to customers but they had no interest in a $20 per month per camera fee) I would use Axis's hosted video solution. With Axis's solution you do not have to use VPNs or port forwarding everything is automatically but it is not cheap. http://www.axis.com/products/avhs/index.htm
