Sanyo 4MP DN dome
thewireguys replied to bpzle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I am not interested in Sanyo anymore so I don't care. I have a feeling Sanyo Secuirty is not going to be around much longer so don't put all your eggs in one basket. -
Sanyo 4MP DN dome

Are you thinking when the camera is in 4MP mode and set to max you will get 30 FPS? cause that is not gonna happen. -
I think it is a very good idea and just makes sense. Genetec has a great VMS/access system. http://www.genetec.com/Pages/default-en.aspx

Large install
thewireguys replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
thanks guys. I got to play with the 10MP camera for the first time and I was impressed. It didn't have any issues switching from color (10MP) to b/w (2.9MP) but this was only in a office not installed. The real test is when when get one installed so I can't wait. -

Outdoor HD IP Fixed Camera
thewireguys replied to Quantum's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Because the Sanyo's can run 720P, 1080P or 4MP. 4:3 or 16:9 Dlink is a joke for a camera and Sanyo has a better image then Panasonic. -

Network Diagram Software

I am sure Visio can but I don't have the time to learn it right now. Well since I am dreaming I should shot for the stars..... How about intergeneration with http://www.jvsg.com/, plus export system info as a excel doc and/or pdf. -
I am looking for the best and easiest to use software for diagramming and documenting networks that is geared towards camera systems

Network Diagram Software
thewireguys replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
SmartDraw.... any other options? I normally do a spreadsheet but I would like to digram the networks too. Ideally I would like to store everything (ip address, ports, users, passwords. etc) with the Diagraming software so I don't have to input the information twice. -

IP Solution for large semi truck sales/repair lot?
thewireguys replied to tmescan's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I wouldn't just use PTZs. IOImage cameras can talk to each other so the idea is to use fixed cameras at the perimeter and when they detect what your looking for the fixed camera hands off the information to the PTZs and they zoom and follow the object. You can also you the system to email you on events. IOImage is just the camera you will need VMS software to record and control. DVtel is the main VMS for IOImage but there are others including Exacq. -
IP Solution for large semi truck sales/repair lot?
thewireguys replied to tmescan's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Why? And what cameras? Video Analytics built into the cameras... They work very well when setup correctly. Detect people, cars, removed objects. The cameras can communicate to each other and hand off info to auto tracking PTZ cameras. If i had to do auto tracking cameras IOImage would be the only ones I would use. Also you can use VIA:sys for on camera perimeter detection analytics with megapixel cameras Check out the videos. http://www.dvtel.com/products/ioimage -

Vivotek IP8151 Supreme Night Visibility
thewireguys replied to cglaeser's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, the specs list the D/N cameras as 0 lux. I never know if I should laugh or cry. Is there even one company in the entire security camera industry that knows how to write a meaningful specification? Best, Christopher Yea they do that for the B/W mode but for color on the 1.3MP Color: 0.95 lux (F1.0/33ms) -

Can motion detect ignore rain AND trigger on *real* events?
thewireguys replied to sequoia's topic in Security Cameras
You are using pixel based motion detection the only way to reduce false motion us to use video analytics. -
