I would hire some that has experience and knows what they are doing with a system like this. How many cameras? What VMS? Are the cameras LOS?

Yeah right, 1/4" CMOS sensors vs 1/3" aptina prog. scan CMOS from ACTi No thanks And You will "LOVE" delay on those cams. I would stick to ACTi TCM series or new GeoVision cams with free soft. Show me some images. The new Vivoteks have a much improved image quality over the older stuff and way better then the ACTI ACM series. Now ACM vs TCM the TCM is much better then the ACM but from the demos that I have seen go Vivotek. If I had to chose between the two. Second choice would be Arcont/Sanyo and Exacq, First would be Avigilon

1) Drill though mortar 2) pull wire though 3) mount camera to brick covering wire hole or mount box and then attach camera to box. -

10. Easy to pick when you zoom in on the image. Yup thats the Aviglon 5MP.....that is a very impressive image. I am ordering one of them and the H.264 dome to demo and test. Also their software is fantastic just unbelievably fast. -
Ok lets play a game. Below are 10 images from IP cameras and encoders ranging from D1 to 5MP with all 4 compressions MJPEG, MPEG-4, H.264 and JPEG2000. All cameras where recording to the servers in different compressions, I exported the video and then I exported the JPEG images from the video export. This is not a trick question everything is legit. Now this goes out to cglaeser he says he can correctly identify the compression and if he can I will give him %5 of his next order. Anyone name the manufactures? 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

Depends what the goal of the system is. I would say away from the ACTI cameras if you want good quality video. There is anther member on here that just did a 30 camera ACTI system and is having nothing but problems. If I had to pick between the two I would go AXIS but that is not even my first choice. Stay away from the free software.. you get what you pay for and you customer will call when it doesn't work. Check out Vivotek's new 8000 series cameras and I would use Exacq for VMS.

I have 20Mb down and 2Mb up with a static ip for $60 a month. I find the 4g wireless to be very intresting. I have alot coustomers thinking it is very easy to slap a 4g modem on a ip camera and they can view it anywhere. Hell every customer asks " can't you do that wireless" -

I just checked the manual and you are doing it correct. I haven't ever had to do it so I don't know any tricks. Do you know the password? Did you just forget the IP address? You can use a IP scanner and look for all the active IP addresses on the network and find it that way. -

4G is the next generation wireless internet. Voice does not get carried over the 4G network as far as I know. You have to flavors WiMax and LTE like anything else both have there own advantages. Sprint uses WiMax and Verizon uses LTE but Sprint wins with the unlimited data plan in my book. I have seen 4G speeds of 8 Mbps down and 5Mbps on my phone with speedtest but I have been reading Verizons LTE has speeds up to 30 down and 15 up but they don't have an unlimited data plan. -
