It does not freeze it is just slower then using on client machine. With only a couple cameras you shouldn't have a problem. -
Help choosing a hybrid NVR

You can run the client on the ELS but if your using MP you will have better performance with using it as a server only. -
Exacq ELS will do it with or without the App

ACTI vs AXIS encoders
thewireguys replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
That's incorrect. I just had the same question last week for a job coming up. More than one Exacq employee told me that encoders use 1 license per channel EXCEPT for select Axis 4ch models. I too was looking at using the Acti 16 ch encoder... but not anymore. Between the encoder and license price, I could put just put in IP cams from the start. I sure wish Exacq sold capture cards... Looks like an IP only solution at least for me. Encoders are too damn expensive. I had a system quoted out using the encoders, with the understanding from several people at Exacq, that only one license per encoder was necessary.... I'm glad I didn't get that job, now! Sorry about the misinformation, but that was the answer I had gotten from several people at Exacq, gotta have a little talk with them now.... Yea I am quoting a job to replace (11) 16 channel DVRs with encoders $26,400 or $1650 for licenses that is a BIG difference in price. -
ACTI vs AXIS encoders

According to Exacq, one license per MAC/device, no matter how many channels. Yea the 16 Channel encoder for Acti is about $3500 plus $2400 for licenses which is more then the Exacq ELS box. -

IP and Port numbering address system
thewireguys replied to Lesst's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
So you use routers to plug into your customers networks? Why? Also only change ports if you have to. What do you use to document all the IP and password info from your install? -
No disrespect meant, but one should be familiar with the products they are selling and to what targeted segment. This experience comes from hands on work in the field and knowing the basics of the business. The problem right now is there are too many "unauthorised resellers" and drop-shippers ripping off customers. This gives all of us a bad name. I'm glad you're asking questions, but keep in mind that you will put yourself and your potential customers in a miserable situation if the proverbial crap starts hitting the fan. I've seen too many people get burned. Couldn't have said it better myself. I wish I could just by direct fromt he manufacture.

So they do it per port where the 4 channels use 1 port? -

So how many licenses did you need for 16 channel? -
At some point I would like to order one and test it out myself.

What SSD drives are they using? I thought SSD drives have problems with write speeds and slowing down over time.

Seeking recommendation: 8-16 Channel IP Appliance w/ PnP Mac

Too late. Already ordered the greens. Is there a RAID card that you recommend? I am sorry but I don't quiet understand why you are gonna spend 5000 plus for a good cctv system and try and save 100 on green drives. -

Do not use Green Drives and do use a good Raid card if you want Raid. -
