  1. Sorry wireguys, could you explain what you mean by ONVIF and if its plug and play? cheers. http://www.onvif.org/
  2. Exacq will support Samsung with ONVIF but ONVIF is not as plug in play as people where hoping it is. At least that is the feedback I am getting from VMS companys.
  3. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=22719 Push the cat5 and other cables thought then terminate.
  4. They will support with Onvif when it is finished.

LOL Axis is the most popular IP camera in the world. I thought everyone has heard of them
  6. Looks good now we just need Exacq to get the onvif support working

  9. Sorry Wireguys, I meant with all cameras being Megapixel and 3MP +. What exacq is doing in that video is doable on most good VMS. I have done a 16 monitor control room with only 2 workstations, 8 1920x1080 monitors on each (6x 24" and 2x 52"), workstations had 2x Quad Head nVidia Cards and Dual Quad Core Xeon 3.2Ghz. And this system has over 250+ Cameras, very large MP resolutions, but non H.264. I have been speaking to some industry friends that have done some large number 5 Megapixel H.264 installs and they have been saying that they are limited in the number of cameras that they can stream to the workstation for live viewing. Just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced this. I just tested Exacq on 2 monitors with 96 cameras. 50 of them where various MP from 720P to 5MP from different manufactures with h.264. You will not have a problem with 30+ on one machine with Exacq. What cameras do you plan on using? Below is an Exacq case study with a 19 monitor video wall with 87 Stardot MP cameras. You might find it intresting http://www.exacq.com/blog/2010/04/08/heavy-metal-protection-an-installer-case-study/
  10. I posted this in a different thread but i will do it again. This is not a problem with Exacq. I have tested 96 on 2 monitors with a Q6600 and a high-end gaming Nvideo video card. Here is a video with 4 monitors with Exacq it all comes down to the video card.
  11. I just upgraded to the latest version of the 7411 firmware and I must say the B/W performance is a lot better.
  12. To add to this, i used a Western Digital Audio Video drive recently for a Geo Install, it tested out fine, it was brand new, but after pulling my hair with stuttering video on recording, i hesitantly changed the drive for a basic one, a Western Digital BLUE Drive, in fact I first tested recording to my USB hard drive, and those gave no problem. So it seems those Audio Video drives may not be all they are cut out to be - also i might note they are advertised as GREEN drives .. need I say more Roy I have had good luck with the WD Blacks for my low cost storage solutions. I am also trying the Seagate CCTV hard drives in my DVRs and WD RE4's for the high end stuff.

    Arecont FAIL

Wireguys, how would you go with that many Areconts in a control room environment? 1. How many Areconts at 2MP, 3MP or 5MP @ native res, low - medium compression (H.264) can you effectivley display on each monitor on a 2 monitor workstation? 2. Would you be able to stream and view all 30 effectivley on a workstation? If so, what VMS are you using? If not, what are the limitations? Cheers. At this point I don't know any specs of the system it is not my project I was just contacted to design and install the system. All I know is it 30+ Arecont cameras and Exacq Software. I know Arecont and Exacq very well so am happy to take on this project. Check out this video with 4 monitors and Exacq.

    Arecont FAIL

Well I am meeting with a company to do a 30+ camera Arecont install so I will let you know how this goes.
  17. Get a demo of the software and let use know.

    Rival to CNB Mona Lisa

I must agree with bantham1 I just installed 4 CNB 24VF outdoors and I am not impressed. They are having hard time will a lot of sun and shade in the image they look very washed out without color.
  19. Have you contacted ACTI and let them look? I know there menu and GUI is not the greatest.
  20. I have the 7411 and 1231 installed and yes you need light for you to get the images you want from them. The only 2 MP cameras the I am happy with at night are the Arecont 3130/3135 and Mobotix M12 so as of right now with everything on the market I think you pay for what you get. You want good low light MP cameras you have to spend money or add light. And everyone says it's because of the CCD vs CMOS. I have the Basler CCD 1.3 MP camera and it is no better then the Acti. I am testing Sanyo HD out but there low light is not very good either.

    Lock box for PC?

Put it in a computer rack and have the electrician put a outlet inside the rack. I would recommend a rack mount case .

    "true day/night", what is it?

Like, it CAN have removable IR cut filter, or it MUST have one so it can be called TDN? All this questions are because we have never called any of the cameras we sell "day/night" with those words, because we wouldn't even be able to say "why" we would be calling it TDN... The camera must have a removable IR cut filter to be a TDN.

Converting a DVRL into an NVR - help anyone?

Ah, ya know, there are no so blind as those who WILL NOT see. Probably best to let these guys labor under their misconceptions, hawking their cheap junk systems and allowing their to customers throw good money after bad for the sake of a quick sale... The rest of us will always be there to pick up the pieces when those customers decide they need to go to something better... to sell them a 3/4-ton pickup for their monthly dump runs after their little Korean hatchback snaps in half under the strain Those customers are a much easier sell for a better system - I know, we've snapped up a number of them in the last couple years. I was at a ICrealtime training, just to see how there product works. I was amazed how much false info he was giving out. I was calling him out on some of it but if I wouldn't have said anything everryone in the room would have thought he was selling megpixel analog cameras Now I wish I wouldn't have said anything I am working on a city/borough solution when the previous integrator sold them a 4 camera Ioimage system with analytics. Guess what, they can't identify people in with the system so the first time I showed a 5MP image they said WOW. Now there is a lot more to it but we are moving all of the analog res cameras to locations where they will be useful and replacing them with Megapixel cameras that WILL identify people and license plates. The fact is I can and have proved to them the system is capable to doing what they want. Not just sold them a stuff to make a quick buck.
