  1. Milestone supports both Arecont and Mobotix.
  2. Let me elaborate a little more on the NVR because different companies do things differently it seems. I'm looking for a NVR for IP cameras so I do not need analog camera inputs on it. The NVR will have recording software embedded and run a Linux embedded OS (I prefer Linux because it's more reliable and I don't have to deal with maintaining another PC in the case of using something with windows which will be more prone to attacks, will need Anti-virus software, etc). But I am still open to NVR's that run windows. The NVR will support at least up to 8 IP cameras and be able to record the 8 cameras simultaneously. NVR will have a web interface that will allow the system/cameras to be configured and will allow remote viewing over a web browser for the customer. It will not require the purchase of any software or licensing. It will have a hard drive built in so that I don't have to use another PC or external storage device (I know some units come with no drives and you have to supply the drives, that is ok). From what I see it looks like the Qnap VS-2012 VioStor NVR offers me the specs I need but it only comes with a meager 1 year warranty for a product that is not that cheap. I would prefer something with at least a 2 year warranty. Thank you all for all the info so far. -Manny Well then your options are Qnap, NUUO mini and Avermedia. Good luck
  3. Because to don't need Auto-Iris with CMOS
  4. Can you get around that by creating multiple 2TB Luns? When I spoke with them they told me there was know size limitation but I don't believe anything any salesmen tells me anymore until I try it myself. What switches are you using with your iSCSI setups? Any bandwidth problems?

    Megapixel lens manufacturers

    Buellwinkle... please remove the link
  6. As a Arecont dealer I have had great luck with them. I have had them installed for over 2 years without any problems and yes they don't have all of the bells and whistles that other manufactures do But what they do have is up to 10 megapixel resolution, great compression and high frame rates. If I need FTP I will get a camera with FTP but none of my customers have requested FTP. If you need email my VMS software can do this and Arecont does have very good on camera motion detection I think is better then Axis and Acti.
  7. If your using MP cameras only some of QNAPs NVRs support megapixel.
  8. Well, "NAS" being a generic term meaning "network attached storage", iSCSI is sort of NAS by definition But yes, we're accessing them via iSCSI - Vigil doesn't support SMB shares for storage (they claim it's too unreliable). Yes I understand.... Qnap is sending me a NVR and Nas so I can test the iSCSI reliability.
  9. Do Raytec make them for Axis, or vice versa? It would seem they might OEM to Axis? Is it any cheaper or better to buy the ones from Axis? im actually interested in the Raytec IR LEDs anyway .. will post a thread on that in the next couple days Raytec makes them for Axis
  10. Dumb question but what does the manual say?
  11. Very easy to setup they just do it different.
  12. Axis doesn't make all of there own products Axis makes some of there cameras but all of the accessories are rebranded. AXIS Ratec Inside of a AXIS T90A20 IR-LED
  13. @soundy QNAP are you using the QNAPS as NAS devices or iSCSI targets? Exacq is the same way all of their turnkey NVRs are Windows based (all of the major VMS players run on Windows like ONSSI, Genetec, Milestone...etc) But Exacq will run on Linux and there ELS boxes are Linux based but they are Hybrids and it doesn't sound like your going that way. I have both Windows and Linux NVRs running Exacq for years without any issues. If your intressed in a custom Linux based Exacq NVR PM me but your looking around $2000-$2500.
  14. What is your budget for the NVR?
  15. Sanyo has a very good day time image but the night time is not so good (other wise I love the Sanyo's image). Arecont has very good cameras and the 3130/3135 is the best for night images. Arecont also works very well with Exacq and Milestone. If your looking for a deal I have a Arecont 3130 with lens and housing forsale. click on the link below.
  16. Well you get what you pay for and Exacq is very easy to install and setup. Plus you get support if you have a problem.

    broadband

For a Mifi device you would need a wireless adapter in your computer to connect to the Mifi. If you get a moblie broadband card I would get the USB version than you can plug it directly into the computers USB port.
  18. Your NVR software could be messing with the settings in the 1231. Disable the camera in your NVR software and default the camera then log into the cameras web interface without reconnecting the NVR software, see if there is a difference. Also I would recommend replacing your NVR software with something that would let you record your all of your cameras in full res.

    Avermedia vs Nuuo

Hi Thewireguys, NUUO CMS is a powerful alarm management system, you can handle lots of events from several different local servers no matter NUUO NVRmini, NVR software, DVR system or hybrid system. Of course, you can display all the cameras at CMS Matrixes. If you just want to view several NUUO Mini, NUUO Remote Live Viewer application can do this easily. NUUO Remote Live Viewer application comes with NUUO Mini, NVR software and DVR software, it's free. It supports to display 128 cameras at most, you can display these cameras from several different local servers. I hope this helps. Can you list the bandwidth limitations for the Mini units?
  21. What VMS software are you using with the SSD?
  22. Some water marks on the lens cover
  23. Well it has a var-focal lens so its not possible. Could you post full res images please. What is the compression set to? Can you take a pic of the lens cover and a pic of the lens with the lens cover off? What firmware is in the camera?
