Need the Final Part of the Puzzle
thewireguys replied to nifter53's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You don't need a high performance graphics card on your server. You will need one in the client if you are going to have multiple monitors and yes Exacq with compatable with 64bit. What raid card are you planing on using? -
Here you go. Arecont 3130 with 3MP day and 1.3MP night. Yes that is the Arecont housing for the camera. And it works very well under IR

thewireguys replied to danielsan2222's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think you miss understood what I was sayings. I was referring to the camera features Axis, IQI ,Sanyo..... have all types of extra features that eat up processing power. Arecont doesn't have them, they use all of the CPU resources for high res and h.264 -

thewireguys replied to danielsan2222's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Well it comes down to processing power in the camera. Arecont is a security camera not a web camera it doesn't have all the extra stuff that Sanyo has. Do you want email pics from your camera or have 10MP with h.264. Arecont gives you more resolution with h.264. Using Exacqs Cal Seven 5MP cameras at 5fps and 30% motion will be 2.2TB for 30Days. Same setting Mjpeg 11TB -

thewireguys replied to danielsan2222's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I did read that their low light performance was not that great because of long shutter times. I know the setup should only have to be done once but is it too much to ask for a camera that isn't a hassle to setup? I will take a second look at them. There low light is very good for a MP camera if setup correctly. The 3130 that I have for sale is very very good for low light. Arecont does have a very long exposure setting called Moonlight. It was designed for the military specifically the guys the shoot first and ask questions later. Arecont has couple of tricks that they don't print in the manuals so to keep professional installers like my self in business. Arecont (or any camera manufacture) have the perfect camera for every situation. That is why we are partners with different camera manufactures so we can design the best system for your needs. -

Sanyo only does h.264 in HD mode, Mjpeg in MP mode. Only problems with Arecont are from the people that don't know how to set them up properly. They're h.264 is very good and you should keep that in mind. 30days of storage with 7 MP mjpeg cameras will be depending on FPS and resolution will be 4-6TB and Milestone does there storage different so you will need even more. Also milestone only supports mjpeg Stardot cameras -
Hybrid Solution for High res IP and CNB
thewireguys replied to bantham1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I would look at Qnap or NUUO mini with encoders for your analog cameras. Exacq also as 8-16 channel analog and up to 24 IP camera hybrid DVRs. -

thewireguys replied to danielsan2222's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
When you start to use MP cameras h.246 is very important. I just did a quote for a customer with Sanyo vs Arecont and the storage requirements for the Sanyos in 4MP mode where 5 times what Arecont was with h.264. I'm talking 4TB vs 20TB big difference on the storage cost. What is your FPS requirements? Arecont would also be a good option for higher frame rates if you need it. If you need I Stardot reseller PM me. -
Mixed Mobotix Environment
thewireguys replied to akelley's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
USB drives can connect directly to the camera or a computer. But if you connect directly to the computer you will run out of bandwidth at some point with multiple cameras recording to it. MXCC and MxEasy are not server software. MXCC has all the goodies and MxEasy is the light easy to use version (neither of them are easy to use) . All they do is put all of the controls and video in one convent place, all the software does is control the cameras. This is why you can only view third party cameras not record them. It looks like server/client software and but they are not. -
Switch Coax to IP
thewireguys replied to rory's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I would switch to a Hybrid DVR and call it a day.... By they time you spend all the money on decoders you could replace DVR with a Hybrid and save yourself a lot of headaches. -

Exacq issue.
thewireguys replied to Privatteer's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I asked for http://www.exacq.com/products/desktop_ip_server.html Received http://www.exacq.com/products/2u_ip_rackmountserver.html Not critical but the desktop model would have suited the location better. I still don't understand So your saying you ordered the desk top version and they sent you the 2U unit? That doesn't make any sense each unit has there own part number. Sounds like you ordered the wrong part number. Not to mention there is a couple thousand dollar price difference. Server only shows the client connecting/disconnecting. Cant find any logs for the actual client... Have you worked with Exacq before? Exacq's server software shows you nothing it is managed from the client software. "It must be my fault they tested it before sending" Just like the 2 DOA cameras. Once again have you worked with Exacq before? Are you a dealer or end user? Is this your first IP system? -

Some considerations when buying a camera
thewireguys replied to Jeroen1000's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Sorry but there is a reason he charges 300$ more then retail for Mobotix cameras. He knows what he is doing and he will support you and this all costs money. -

Problem with Axis 207. Poor image quality
thewireguys replied to mjnavapo's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The camera was aimed directly at the sun or there was a strong reflection from the sun. That is image burn, nothing to do with wifi. I 207 is not a outdoor camera and this is what happens when you use it outside. -
