Has anyone tried the Auto Tracking PTZ cameras - what Brands
thewireguys replied to crosseyed66's topic in Security Cameras
I would stay away from them unless your going to use them indoors with little or no traffic. If you want to use them outside look at IOImage but your still gonna have problems with tracking stuff you don't want to. Also if you have a lot of moving objects in the area the camera will feakout and try to track everything thing. -

People that just spent thousands of $$ on HDMI cables are going to pull their hair out . But just like every other standard before this one saidly will never see the full potential and there will just be more frustration for the consumers and dealers. DVI was a joke, HDMI still doesn't do everything they said it to was going to do and never will. You sell a customer a $3000 HDMI 1.3 cable and run it in the wall then 6 months later HDMI 1.4 comes out and then you have to tell your customer the cable will not work with the new features of 1.4. Hopefully this new standard is quickly adopted and they STICK WITH IT end rant http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfbiILDmw-I -
Anyone have experience with GrandEye 5MP 360 degree cameras?
thewireguys replied to akelley's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Mobotix can do Images video and/or audio. You can use SD cards, USB jump drives or hard drives plugged into the camera. So you could hook up a 2TB directly to the camera and get alot of storage!! Would the HDD be NAS or USB or other? Also does that slow down the video and if so by how much? thanks. Could be USB directly to the camera, a network share on a computer or a NAS. No slow down in video. -

Computar/Gantz MP1DN any good?
thewireguys replied to dopalgangr's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Well up untill recently Arecont was the only Megapixel camera that could do h.264 with high frame rates. Now there are other options up to 5MP. I do like Mobotix alot but there software must be easier to use for the end user and there support for there dealers must get better in the US. -
