http://www.isonas.com/ Anyone using their products? This stuff looks like it is alot easier to install then panel based systems. Hell one of their products is P.O.E. ready and you can use it to power the locks, that's alot less wiring. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSed2K4BMuY

Not gonna happen, save your money and get a quality one.

Why would I want to install hosted access control systems? Why are they better then panel based systems and what are their advantages and disadvantages.

Hosted access control
thewireguys replied to thewireguys's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Yes I have some questions. What do you do about battery back up for mag locks? I know UPS for the POE switch but they are alot more expensive (from what I know) then Altronix battery backups. Also what about run time for them? Also what do you do about fire alarm integration? You have to drop lock power when the the alarm goes off so you have to run a 2 wire to the lock, have a relay hooked up to the outlet the POE switch is plugged into or if you have a addressable system put a relay at each lock. And I am assuming if the internet goes down the system runs is standalone mode? Have you seen www.E-Data.com its not a hosted system but they have a very nice product. -
My case was lot simpler They (local police forensic video analysis unit) sit in the shop with me for 3 days watching video files and then confiscate whole computer from customer (murder case) to do court approved copy I was trying to ask ??? but conversation was one way Most police departments have know idea how to covert video files or find the right codec to play the video. They just what it to work!!!! Just another reason I love Exacq.

Mobotix discussion
thewireguys replied to robert's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Based off 150ppm yes this will work day and night. You could also use a 8mm lens with a HFoV of 17m and DtPD of 22m. -

When it comes to MP cameras pixels on target is very important. Arecont and Aviglon make is very easy to calculate the right lens and MP camera to use. Once I know this then I can pick day, night, and/or IR. It's a different way of thinking then the old analog way and it makes it much easier to quote the right system for the job. -
That what is talk about read viewtopic.php?f=54&t=20786&start=0 HD-SDI type connector (BNC) Not gonna do any good without a recording device

What megapixel camera do I need...
thewireguys replied to serverguy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You could do it with a 1.3mp and the 50mm or the 3mp with a 25mm. Your gonna need alot of light to get it at night. Also Axis's new 3MP camera works very well for LPR setups. But I agree with Megapixel Man hire a professional for the design and install. -
Megapixel 100mm + lens?
thewireguys replied to 3RDIGLBL's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I contacted http://www.sunsurveillance.com/ and spoke to them for a while. They build systems specific to the area of the country they would be installed in. Not really a solution geared toward a small residential install unless that person has the money to spend for such a small return. My customer wanted to have the camera mounted at the camp and wirelessly transmitted down to his house. YES....it can definitely be done but at a cost like every other special application. Yea I have talked with them. Nice product but not cheap. -

MP and low light - any side-by-side comparisons?
thewireguys replied to Soundy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Wow, how many different NVMS platforms are you using for all those cameras? I was gonna ask the same question ..... also check out Arecont's new 10MP camera they say the low light performance is %50 better then any of there other cameras. Also did you try making any adjustments to the defalt settings in the Arecont 5MP camera to reduce the motion blur? Axis now has a 5MP camera with great image quality too. -
Megapixel 100mm + lens?
thewireguys replied to 3RDIGLBL's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I know IPconfigure uses a 100mm to 200mm lens on the Axis P1436 that they use for LPR. I have a request in to find out the make and model. -

Glad you posted this because I was looking for one myself. What camera and solar setup do you plan on using? -
Got the 750G and the 433 today. The 750 is setup out of the box to run as a router and it is very small. Great stuff

ISC was way better for us. I didn't see the Samsung phone you where talking about all I was hearing about was the HTC EVO for Sprint (I want that phone so bad) and 4G was everywhere.
-
Alex check out http://www.pivot3.com/. The NVR software runs as a VM and adds redundancy to your system. Looked at it at ISC and it's good stuff.

exacqVision Post Motion
thewireguys replied to cglaeser's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
There is too much movement in the branch and leaves. This is a simple problem in need of a simple solution. Post record is not some esoteric or complex feature. Many cameras support post record. exacq needs to implement post record in the next release. Best, Christopher Have a look may be it will work for you thanks Alex I thought of that but I forgot to post it..... -
Mobotix cameras
thewireguys replied to serverguy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
yes you can order different lenses and yes you can record both images at the same time. Normally you would order different lens with the same sensors so say what to cover a parking lot that has light at night. One lens would be wide and the other telephoto so you can have a overall shot and get LPs at the entrance with one camera. But keep in mind you will have slightly reduced frame rates when you record both imagers at the same time. -
Uncompressed ? Where ? show me DVR which store uncompressed video ? That is my point
-
They are talking about compressed and uncompressed images. Give the police the least compressed image.
