Storage space calculation

Yea not a fan of Luxriot. Exacq is just easier in every way for me. Good luck with the install. I have been installing Luxriot for 2 years, so, very used to it. But I`m learning Excaq bit by bit. Its just more expensive, I can get it xxx$/cam incl. VAT. Who is selling it for Exacq $XXX? -
Storage space calculation

Yea not a fan of Luxriot. Exacq is just easier in every way for me. Good luck with the install. 4 to 6 TB of storage is alot of money compared to 1TB plus the RAID card and Xeon server. $1,499.00 for the Luxriot or $2400.00 for Exacq you will easily make $1000 up with the storage and server cost. -

If I go H264, then I will need 99 cpu PC to watch live 16 cams at the same time H264 decoding is super CPU hungry. So, have to stick with MJPEG. No you don't. Normal dual core machines will not have a problem displaying h.264. Hell Areconts MJPEG uses more CPU then the H.264 does. Use Exacq with a Atom 330 for the server and a dual core for the client machines... done. I saw this setup at ISC the but they wouldn't tell me what camera they are using. It is very small with IR and it had a good image quality. Any ideas?

What do you use to record? Is it battery powered or 12DC?
-
I use it for my Exacq NVRs because I use Teamviewer and it doesn't work with linux yet but as soon as it does I am done with Windows for my Exacq installs.

I think they approve only your first 5 posts to filter the spam. I would like to check out Dude. I would be nice to have it monitor all if the installs.

exacqVision Post Motion
thewireguys replied to cglaeser's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I can not use a motion window to cover a tree branch that is on one side of the field of view because the constant wind would essentially mean continuous recording. The tree branch is sparse, so it's easy to see someone behind it. If someone walks left to right, the pre-record will record them while they walk from behind the tree branch and through the field of view. However, when someone walks right to left, there is no post-record, so the recording stops as soon as they leave the main motion window. Put motion windows all around the tree. Best, Christopher -

Don't need it..... I said the same thing when I first used the software and I haven't missed any video becuase of it. Use multiple motion windows and you will not have any problems. -
I have taken at the class but I did it just for the paper. I spent an entire day with my rep one on one so they didn't tell me anything I didn't know already. Play with it, watch the videos and read the manual and you will be fine.

exacqVision or LuxRiot or QNAP VioStor NVR?
thewireguys replied to eug's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Exacq will run on a Atom 330 no problem. I have personally tested this with 10 MP cameras from Arecont Acti and Axis. I recommend the Zotac boards if your going to use it for a client/server setup but most of our installs the customer already has a computer on site so we setup the Exacq setup as a headless system. Here is a link to the videos: http://www.exacq.com/support/videolibrary.html I can set you up with a demo license if you need one. -

Basic So, one course for 600$ and you become Mobotix certified partner? What advantages do you get after becoming certified? You know the product, you learn how to install it and you learn how Mobotix can do things that know other system can do. -

We are putting it out there If anyone cant get in touch with mobotix give us a shout and we can see if we can help. We are by no means be all experts but can try and give free email or chat support. A side note, Mobotix is having some serious customer service issues worldwide right now. Its a great product but distribution and channel sales departments dont seems to care about a customer unless they are doing large installation projects not realizing 80 customers buying 2-4 cameras beats one 100 camera deal. This may look good on marketing materials but you cant have a sustainable business model with that attitude. We are also getting a lot of complaints about us online retailers and selling below the prices they have fixed per country. If you havent noticed, buying even at msrp is over a $100us cheaper in the USA then anywhere else in the world. The complaint we have heard is that we sell worldwide and offer lower then msrp prices. I am sure a lot of dealers here may have opinions on this and would love to sell at msrp but in order to compete with the over 20 online shops that are box pushers, ebay, and even amazon.com now, we need to be competitive. In terms of selling worldwide, I have clients in Australia that buy from us and pay $$$ in shipping fees just because we have stock on hand , answer our phones and email, and give support. This is the same in the states where we have had several customers whose local integrators installed the cameras, didn't set them up correctly, and won't/can't support them. We love the products and recommend people buying them, but if Mobotix keeps growing and wanting to compete against arecont and axis, they really need to work on their support and channel sales. I could not agree more " title="Applause" /> ..... But I will the guys from Germany know this stuff like the back of there hand. Mobotix can do more then any other system in the market. Mobotix is more then a camera system it is a total security solution if you integrate everything. Jens W was the trainer at the class I attended and I have never met some one with more product knowledge and experience. -

Customer wants a SAN setup for storage and they want to convert over 183 cameras to IP and add MP cameras. Put out the DVRs install encoders and use Pivot 3 for the NVR if we have enough bandwidth or I will have to use hybrids to keep the bandwidth down. There is a 100MB fiber network but depending on the FR requirements we will have a bandwidth problem.
