I have used Netgear POE switches with many different IP cameras including Acti without problems.

Do you have a Cat5 tester? Did you use quality cable? Cat5 cable is very fragile and needs to be pulled properly or you can break pairs in the wire.

Negative....... running cat6 and cat6a does NOT increase the distance above 100m....... Also keep in mind the 100m is the TOTAL distance including patch cables not just the horizontal cabling. -

Anyone try the Atom?
thewireguys replied to 3RDIGLBL's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The 330 will run 10-20 megapixel cameras without a problem Doubt you will do that with NUUO unless someone can tell me otherwise. From what I've seen with a Core 2 Quad I have a tough time seeing this done with NUUO. Never tried with NUUO -

I have build 330 systems and they work very well you just have to know the limitations. You tried it with Exacq right? Proabably operates more efficiently. I have a couple in the field and they work very well. -

That is absolutely not true. You hear stuff like this from companies that have no clue how to install IP systems. With a Hybrid system you could use Megapixel cameras to cover large areas and you could reduce your camera count which could reduce your camera and cabling cost. 50 cameras is not going to cause traffic issue if the net work is designed correctly. How many doors are you controlling? Did you ask them about the camera count and DVR channels? -
What OS u using? I would setup a new user account and lock it down.

Just to make sure I counted correctly but you have 52 cameras and only 48 channels to record on. -

For that kind of money I would have liked to see better cameras, hybrid recording device and/or megapixel cameras. What requirements did you give the company that gave you this quote? Do you know what access control system they quoted you? Could you PM me a Google image of the property you are trying to protect. -

You need to get Ipro cert if you want to sell some Panasonic products. Also I can put you intouch with a Samsung rep if no one gets back to you. Also Axis has a 3 year warranty with a next day replacement. Exacq also has 3 year warranty with great support!! -

Mobotix microphones can be temporarily disabled *or* permanently disabled. The permanent method is for liability/compliance reasons that eliminate the possibility of operators toggling it when they shouldn't be able to. Probably seldom used, but nice to have the option. I have yet to play with a Q24, but the volume on my M12 is more than enough. In a residential setting, I had to dial it back. Attached are a couple of screen shots of the VoIP configuration pages which show how flexible they are. I use a M12 with a Epygi Quadro and it works quite well. One very useful feature of the audio system is to trigger a sound when motion is detected. People nearly always look in the direction of the camera resulting in a great 'money shot'! The speaker and mic in the Q24 and M12 work very well. I too had to turn the volume down because they where too loud. tomcctv I strongly recommend you take one if the Mobotix classes and you will see the two different ways of disabling the mic and Mobotix will explain to you why they do this. Also there is NO way of resetting the mic once it is permanently disabled, Mobotix can't even do it. "Mobotix has a cost (never ending)" the only fee Mobotix charges is to reset the admin password. They do this for security reason so if somebody steals a camera a) they can't see the recorded footage b) they can't sell the camera on ebay. Nothing else, no firmware or software updates and the software is free for life so I don't know where you came up with "cost (never ending)" The only downfall with Mobotix is they are complicated.
