Thanks for the link!! I was rooting around that site and it looks nice. I must contact them for pricing. I'm still not sure if they are a truly a supplier/distributor or a storefront for a dropshipper? Either way it looks very promising. Thanks. Tri-ed is a supplier/distributor.

HELP DESIGNING: custom vehicle video surveil system
thewireguys replied to fadedout's topic in System Design
I had an idea to use the Mobotix Devkit for in car solution. It would be perfect no moving parts, trigger in/outs so you could have it setup to only record when the car is off and you could use the trigger output to a relay for the fuel pump so if some one stole your car you could call your car and turn of the fuel pump. With a wireless cell card in the card you could have email alarms send to your phone. Also the Mobotix device is VOIP/SIP compliant so you could have our car call you on your cellphone and have a 2-way conversation with the a-hole and press #2 to shut the car off. http://www.mobotix.com/eng_US/content/view/full/37540 -
THANK YOU Now, I know Tri-ed doesn't carry it but Arecont camras and Exacq NVRs will do what you want. I know that becuase these are the products I work with everyday. You could also look in to NUUO miniNVR for your recording solution to bring down the cost if your don't have a spare PC laying around.

Arecont/Win2k??
thewireguys replied to Soundy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
All they need, is to allow the USER to decide whether they want the NVR installed or not along with the finder. Not that difficult a concept - don't force me to install software I don't want or need. You do need the Video System to focus the camera to it's fullest potential and setup the custom exposure windows. The IQinvision rep is going to stop buy Thursday for a demo. My main concern is image quality and bandwidth. From the demos that I have seen at ISC and the images I have seen Arecont has a better image. Also Arecont has the 180 and 360 cameras which are very interesting and could be very useful. WallMart is replacing there 24 parking lot cameras with one 180 Arecont camera. The other advantage with Arecont/Excaq setup is the integration with the camera motion detection which from my test is the best on-camera pixel based motion detection. It is far better for outdoor motion recording/events then Axis and Acti but not as good a Mobotix but they don't integrate with Exacq yet. -

Arecont/Win2k??
thewireguys replied to Soundy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Arecont has built in web server in every camera and yes u can adjust parameter's of the camera p.s. They do have stand alone IP finder utility Thanks for clearing that up ak... But I must say that now I don't understand any of the dilema here, I must not be experienced enough to understand it. I was under the impression that all the features and functions could be configured with the cameras onboard web server configurator and ip finder utility.. Help me understand why the need to utilize any other tools or applications if one is not going to use them systemwide 24/7? What am I missing? Insn't it as simple as logging in to the web server, installing Areconts Active-X controls and setup the camera....done? You can use the web interface to setup most of the settings but you can do it alot faster using the Camera Installer if you have many cameras. Instead if remembering 20 ip addresses and typing them into IE why not set everything up from one location. I have installed many different manuratures cameras and once you know how to install Areconts it is very easy. This just goes to show you can't make everyone happy. If they had different installers people would complain about that. Also the software can't record anything without a license so it will not interfere with you NVR software. The only issue is multiple streams so if you open the web interface and while you have your NVR software running your frame rates will drop. -
Arecont/Win2k??
thewireguys replied to Soundy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Arecont has Stand Alone Installer for their cameras Do you have a link to this becuase I have jump drive from Arecont that has all of there software on it. You have the AV Application Manager which you install. Then you open Camera Installer to assign the IP address and use the Video System to focus the cameras and setup the custom exposure windows. Everything else you can do from the web interface. -
Arecont/Win2k??
thewireguys replied to Soundy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Arecont doesn't want you to use there NVR software. But it is a valuable tool to set the cameras up and trouble shoot them. Install the software then uninstall it when your done. Once you assign the IP addresses and focus the cameras you don't need it anymore. Personally I think it makes it a lot easier to setup multiple cameras when you can use one interface and you don't have to log into every web interface. -
Arecont/Win2k??
thewireguys replied to Soundy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
AV100 is configured by default to run at start up. Start AV100, goto advanced, uncheck auto-startup. I recommend you use your laptop or remove the software (if your not using it for your NVR solution) when your done with the setup. One thing with Arecont camera is they only like one stream and the AV100 will override any other connection. If you plain on installing Arecont camera I recommend you attend there training. Once you learn how everything works it is very easy. -
MegaPixel Ip Camera (TV OUT) Problem

If geovison supports multi monitors run a VGA cable from your video card to your TV then it will work. -
MegaPixel Ip Camera (TV OUT) Problem
thewireguys replied to RedHorse's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
If your video card has a composite out up it will work becuase it is decoding the video. The DVR card encodes the video but will not decode it. Does you TV have a VGA or DVI input? -
MegaPixel Ip Camera (TV OUT) Problem
thewireguys replied to RedHorse's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I am not familiar with GeVision but I have a feeling that it isn't going to work. The card would need to decode the IP cameras to send the video out via composite video. Analog cameras work fine becuase they aren't decoding the video just redirecting it. -
MegaPixel Ip Camera (TV OUT) Problem

So you have a hybird DVR and you have a monitor out that will not display the Arecont camera? How is your TV hooked up to the geovision system. -

Arecont/Win2k??
thewireguys replied to Soundy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
If your not using AV100 for the NVR solution why not just run it on your laptop to setup the cameras? I always uninstall it anyways when I am done so we don't have any issues. -
Seeking Ideas to improve CCTVForum for 2009
thewireguys replied to larry's topic in Questions about this site
Nothing wrong with it...... I just feel sometimes that we give out a lot of valuable information that people can't get anywhere else without having to pay for. I think that they should have to sign up to see it and maybe they might stick around longer. How many trunk slammers do you think troll this site so they can devalue our business. Just an idea -
Mixture of IP Cameras

This is not true.... Every NVR software that I have used allows you to use different compression per camera. -
Mixture of IP Cameras
thewireguys replied to Termite007's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
When you pick your NVR software just make sure it supports all of the cameras you would like to use. What happens if you need a PTZ camera, 5 megapixel and cheap 1.3 megapixel camera with audio? You can't get that from one manufacture. I thought that one of the main ideas behind IP systems is the ability to network different devices. Open standards -

Two form factors for AV3130?
thewireguys replied to cglaeser's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Do both designs fit in the same dome enclosures? What about the connections on the back. Did those change as well? Best, Christopher Everything is the same excpt for the size (faster smaller processor) and no the old model will not fit in a dome housing. -
