Laptop with PoE port?
thewireguys replied to robert's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
http://www.veracityusa.com/products/pinpoint/pinpoint.pdf Pinpoint was released -
As soon as I hear from my software guys I can let you know the specs I would need. Looking for something small, rugged able to be used outdoors. It could even be running linux and use a large capacity solid state drive. It would need to have a network port. I don't think I would need video as long as I can remote in the machine and set it up. If it could fit in a camera housing like this with Arecont camera that would be great.

You can set it up to switch at any lux you want. You can display both images if you want. You can order the M12 with two 3 mega sensors with different lens one wide and one tel. The lux resolution is .0 This camera will make your head spin with all of its features. -

I can do that what lux level would you like That'd be real helpful. Can you get it around .5 lux? See I kinda want to get away with the day/day model if possible. Might not work out too well, and at 1100 a pop it sure would be an expensive anchor for the canoe. And I'm assuming that by lux level you are speaking of enviromental measured and not one of the many internal controls of the camera? This is great...thanks man! I was going to use the built-in lux meter. At some point I will get a LUX meter to compare it to. Just so you know the camera by default switches to B/W mode at 10 lux. -

From what I have read you don't need a PBX. It says in the manual you only need a SIP account if you want to make phone calls to land lines and cell phones. I would like to see how to setup the camera to call my cell phone or be able to call the camera. I was able to setup a direct connection using a free softphone I came across. -

Anybody useing the VOIP features of the Mobotix cameras? I would like to test it out but I don't know what SIP provider to use or which softphone to try. For those of you that don't know Mobotix cameras are also phones. You can add them as an extension to your VOIP phone system or sign up for a SIP provider and have the camera call your cell phone so you have 2-way communication with the cameras mic and speaker and control the automation functions. -
considering using ACM-1231

Depends what you need the system to do. The Mini will do anything a pc system can do for less money. Your limitation with the Mini is the number of camera per server. But that can be over come with their CMS software. The Mini is a great solution for small megapixel systems. -

I can give you support...... I use teamviewer. The ACT 4711 will work for you. If the image isn't as good as you would like at night then you would have to add more light and you could use white or IR light. I could hook you up with a 4 channel NUUO miniNVR with up to 4 Acti cameras and you will have a simple easy to use megapixel camera system. -

OK.... how impotent is the night time image to you? I can recommend the ACTi ACM-7411 for you price range. The 7411 is the same camera as the 1231 but it is in a vandal dome and it doesn't have the built in IR For more money you good go with Areconts dome cameras. I you like to opportunity to earn your business if you decide to order the cameras. I have 3 new 7411's I need to move. -
