    Avigilon IP camera

But keep in mind you can NOT run the old tool on the same server your running ACC Server.
  7. Mr Chen Zongnian was excited and thankful: “President XI’s visited means a full appreciation and support for CETC group and HIKVISION. As a state- owned company, we understand that reform and transformation cannot be accomplished in one day and should continue. In the future, we will still do our best to fulfill our mission and take responsibilities for our society and government.” http://en.cetc.com.cn/enzgdzkj/news/408460/index.html

  10. Those of you using Hikvision or thinking about Hikvision you might want to review this as this will turn into a pain to switch to a new DDNS service. Not you mention the Chinse Government ownership I would recommend looking at another solution besides Hikvision. https://ipvm.com/reports/hikvision-online

Advice for big scale IP cameras deployment

Use a dedicated network and your life will be easier. I would also look at another camera line besides Hikvision unless you are comfortable with the fact that the Chinese government ownership of Hikvision.

    NVR UI's that aren't horrible?

I have yet to see a DVR/NVR that is even remotely intuitive. If you want better you need to look at VMS software with a computer/server. Avigilon and Nx Witness are very easy to use.

RJ45 to BNC for megapixel cameras

No, you will need to replace your DVR with a hybrid unit that can record analog/HD analog/TVI or CVI and IP cameras.

Hikvision vs Dahua vs ... ?

So no one has any recommendations, other than to note that both of these vendors are tied to the Chinese govt. Hi dahua is much better than hik. Look at flir systems or Ic realtime. IC Realtime = Dahua OEM Flir Systems low end = Dahua OEM

Hikvision vs Dahua vs ... ?

So no one has any recommendations, other than to note that both of these vendors are tied to the Chinese govt. No that is incorrect.... Hikvision is owned by the Chinese Government. Dahua is manufactured in China but not owned by the Government though they have major security issues.

    CCTV Manufacturer

Keep in mind Hikvision is owned by the Chinese government and Dahua was part of the largest DOS attack in the history of the internet.

    HID VertX Boards

Yes we use them with Avigilon and Genetec. I think they are easy to mount and there is less to program since the inputs/outputs are already assigned. Personal I like Mercury hardware better as you have more options they are very flexible with different system designs. Avigilon has an embedded version which the software is run on the controller and you access the unit via a web browser. igJMi7nd_II
  20. My main concern with this is the fact that Hikvision (Chinese Government) could have millions of devices to us a BOTs to attach financial and critical infrastructure. This was demonstrated by the Mirai botnet using Dahau products (and others) for the largest DOS attack in the history of the internet.
  21. Good article with more info Is the World's Biggest Surveillance Camera Maker Sending Footage to China?
  22. The answer is YES where you need it. If you monitoring a brome closet then 720P is fine. If you want to monitor a large parking lot then 30MP is a better choice. It all comes down to how much detail (PPF) that you are looking for. 30MP Camera example f4lODpPIvpE
  23. If telnet is open and default user/pass is used the cameras/DVRs can/will be hacked

Food for thought... Hikvision the #1 surveillance manufacturer in the world is owned by the Chinese Government and Dahua the #2 surveillance manufacturer in the world was part of the largest DOS attack in the history of the internet.
