What is our best option?
thewireguys replied to mytheory.'s topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
We do a ton of Avigilon and use Hikvision a lot with Avigilon. If you need pricing or product info feel free to PM me. If you are on a budget it is very hard to beat the combo of Avigilon ACC VMS software with Hikvision cameras. One thing people overlook when they thinking about CCTV is the ability to search and export video. -
High Rez + Low Light Mutually Exclusive?
thewireguys replied to Quantum's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
We have been using Avigilon's 9-22mm bullet cameras for LPR setups. Mostly 3MP WDR or 5MP cameras and they work very well with the adaptive IR and ACC's display adjustments. You can get up to around 100-125ft with the built in IR and father with external IR. Just finished up a parking lot project with Arecont's 12MP 180 and 2 Avigilon 5MP 9-22mm bullets for LPR at the exit and extrences. Customer is very happy. -
High Rez + Low Light Mutually Exclusive?
thewireguys replied to Quantum's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Raytec can light that up no problem http://rayteccctv.com/ -
Go with the managed switch if you want to be able to power cycle the cameras from the switch GUI. If you only have one POE+ device just get a single POE+ injector to power it and use the switch to power your other cameras.

IP cameras detecting and Fiber Optic
thewireguys replied to ibraba's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
What type of fiber are you using? Single mode or multimode? Did you use pre terminated fiber or did you term it on your own. How are you converting the fiber to ethernet? -
Oh this gets even better... free Chinese vms software to go with 150 cameras. Have you ever designed or completed a install this large before. Do you know the total bandwidth for all 150 cameras?

Need a 16 port switch with 30watts every port
thewireguys replied to cavcom's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Mainly because it doesn't have an internal power supply. It has a brick mounted to the back of it. True and that doesn't have fans either. -
No need for the digital loggers. Just get a managed POE switch with enough power for your camera load.

All of the PTZ cameras we use support POE or POE+. The Dahua PTZ I have uses POE+

The video you posted shows the camera being view from a smartphone. So your plan is to have your customer log into each camera with their smartphone? I did ask a question which you did not answer. What VMS solution do you plan to use with these 150 cameras?
-
Yea you can power cycle each port on the switch not problem. That setup will be a nightmare to trouble shoot. Get a POE switch and make your life much easier.
-
How many ports do you need? POE switches are not that expensive and WAY less of the headache then what you posted
-
Those are cute toys. How do you plan to manage 150 of them? What VMS solution do you plan on using with those cameras?
-
Got a link to these $37 cameras? What about some sample images and videos?

Are you a Avigilon partner? Have you checked to see if all the cameras you plan to use are on the supported camera list? Is this a new install with new cameras listed above? -
Lowest Price 4K 30 fps surveillance cameras
thewireguys replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Lets not start this again as this same subject came up when IP cameras switched from 1MP/2MP to 720P/1080P... 1MP/2MP/10MP is a resolution 720P/1080P/2K/4K is a standard. In the consumer electronics world they are now talking about 4K 48FPS or 60FPS. -

That ACTI camera is not 4k its 10MP and 6FPS. For a camera to be true 4k it must be 30fps. -

Any Good Recording Software If I Don't Want to Use Nuuo?
thewireguys replied to nuuosucks's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Are you talking about Avigilon Control Center (ACC) Client 5? http://avigilon.com/support-and-downloads/for-software/software-updates-and-downloads/ If you want to demo the solution you would have to download the ACC 5 server which includes the client. If you want the HTML5 web interface and mobile app you would also want to download the Gateway Server. -

Lowest Price 4K 30 fps surveillance cameras
thewireguys replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
4K cameras aren't even released yet and he is looking for 500$ versions I have yet to see a VMS that can support 4K cameras and I can't wait to see the client machine requirements to display more than one camera at a time. Also keep in mind at the first gen 4K cameras are going to suck in low light.
