    Help with new system design

You could use ACTi IP cameras. If your going to use the cameras indoors check the the ACM-4201 cube camera. They run about $300 (for a 1.3 megapixel camera) or less and the ACTi NVR software is free. http://www.acti.com/Catalogv5/Product_Information.asp?PART_NO=ACM-4200/ACM-4201 We are very happy with the ACTi cameras we have installed but I can't speak for there NVR software because I haven't tried it yet. But this would be a nice starting point for your system and when you have more budget you could install more capable NVR software.
  2. Not sure, where I have the 3511's is pretty well lit 24/7. Would think it would be comparable to the 7411 (IE in B/W all the time, but a pretty good B/W picture), if that works for you. Bars are tough for CCD, let alone CMOS. B/W image is fine because would be replacing a B/W analog camera. Customer wants a wider shot with more detail so I was thinking the 3511 might work because we have been happy with the 1231 and the 7411 but you never know until you have the camera installed.

    Sanyo VCC-HD4000

Any feed back on this camera?
  4. How do you think that camera would do in a low lit bar?
  5. I can't find the day/night threshold on the 7411. What page is it under on the web interface?
  6. The problem with the Sanyo camera is NVR compatibility.
  7. You might what to look into OnSSi. Their Ocularis client software is designed for touchscreens which your customers might already have with there Crestron setups.
  8. There is 2 different resets. You can do the full reset or reset everything but the IP address.

    10K System Budget....HELP!!

Video Insight makes a great product and the new 4.1 release's web client is much improved.

  12. Well Pelco is who you need to look at for the decoder. http://www.pelco.com/Products/default.aspx?id=850 And looking on there site they don't have a h.264 decoder but if that camera also has MPEG-4 maybe one of there decoder would be compatible.
  13. Just signed up for the Arecont Channel Partner Certification Program!! If your curious about the bandwidth with both cameras streaming at full resolution with no motion in the image takes up 33Mb. The 5 megapixel has the 4.5-13mm MP lens on it The 3130 has the 4mm arecont lens on it 5 Megapixel 1.3 Megapixel

    4 channel NUUO miniNVR

Dear TastyHuman, Our NVRmini runs on Linux, but our live view and playback technology is based on ActiveX which requires IE. You still can configure the system using Firefox since the control panel is based on HTML + Ajax. Cheers, Yung-chung Lin I would love to see your comments about bandwith "limitations" on Mini Nuuo Is it true that unit cant handle full data rate of cameras or what is Max bandwith unit can handle ? Also what are the limits of the 8 and 16 channel versions? NVRmini can handle full data rate of cameras. However, to balance the computating power and data I/O given nvrmini's spec, we limit the bandwidth that an nvrmini can handle to ensure the quality and the user experience. NVRmini 2040 is capable of 20 Mpbs. NVRmini 4080 is capable of 30 Mpbs. NVRmini 4016 is capable of 22 Mpbs. Cheers, Yung-chung Lin Why does the 16 channel have less bandwidth then the 8 channel version?
  15. "I made 250K the first 2 months" sign me up!!!
  16. What NVR software our you using with the 3130? I just got in the 5 megapixel DN and I very impressed with the night time images.

    10K System Budget....HELP!!

Milestone OnSSI Video-Insight IPconfigure Exacq NUUO Aimetis Are all great products and most of them have demo versions that you can download and try. Also don't forget most IP camera manufactures have there own software if you plan on using only one manufactures IP camera and most are cheaper or free then the ones I listed above.

    Toshiba IP Cameras

Alot of Toshiba cameras are made by Vivotek
  19. I have the Arecont 4mm lens on the camera. The focus will improve when the megapixel lens arrives. I think the Arecont has a better image then the IndigoVision.
  20. We are looking for a low cost 4-8 port POE switch for our 4 IP camera setups. Well the D-Link isn't gonna cut it. I hooked up 1 Arecont 5 megapixel, 2 Acti 1.3 megapixel, and 1 Axis none megapixel camera and I am having a hard time getting the web interfaces to load. So I hooked the cameras backup to the Linksys SRW208MP and everything was back to normal. All cameras came up and I was getting full frame rates with the Linksys. So I am assuming the D-Link can't handle the bandwidth so I need some recommendations for a low cost 5 - 8 port POE switch. Thanks for the help

    D-Link DES-1008PA 8 port POE switch

So your telling me a 10/100 switch can't handle 16megs of data? I need to find a way to test the bandwidth of this switch. I have talked to different people and they say they use this switch with 4 ACTI mega pixel cameras without a problem. I wonder if I have a defective product.

    D-Link DES-1008PA 8 port POE switch

Soundy.... This is why am I am looking for a LAN bandwidth tester. I would like to test this switch to see how much bandwidth it can handle. I don't understand why this switch can't handle the bandwidth. I am going to try it with 4 ACTI 1.3 megapixel cameras. I know ACTI cameras cap there bandwidth at 4 megs so with 4 cameras that will be a total of 16 megs. This switch should handle it.

    Virtual PTZ

How well does that camera do in low light? Could you post some screen shots?
