  1. Looking at the night image and the refective light from the tree leaves and car refective surfaces it appears there is a long exposure setting. Is it set to auto or have you set a manual exposure time? Also interested to know if the DN camera has a DC auto iris option. Low Light Mode was set on "Balanced"
  2. You will need to use Day/Night cameras if you want good nighttime images. None of the Axis cameras you listed will work at night or with IR. Axis cameras that are day/night and can see IR is 225FD, 221, 223M, Q1755 plus the PTZ cameras. The cheapest one on the list is $999. Go with ACTI or Arecont for Megapixel Day/Night.
  3. I have a couple of jobs that we are using IP cameras and outdoor AP points and I am looking for the easiest way to power them. I would like to have one small POE switch to plug in and it would be able to power the camera and AP. Any Ideas?

    LAN bandwidth tester

Is there a product one the market that will let you test the bandwith of your switches, routers, and wireless links? I am using AnalogX NetStat but it only tests the NIC on the computer. I am looking for a device like my Cable tester that I would plug send and receive units into the switch. Then I would have the send unit stream 1Gig of info on the switch to the receive unit and if your able to receive the 1Gig stream. Any ideas? Thanks

    4 channel NUUO miniNVR

Dear TastyHuman, Our NVRmini runs on Linux, but our live view and playback technology is based on ActiveX which requires IE. You still can configure the system using Firefox since the control panel is based on HTML + Ajax. Cheers, Yung-chung Lin I would love to see your comments about bandwith "limitations" on Mini Nuuo Is it true that unit cant handle full data rate of cameras or what is Max bandwith unit can handle ? Also what are the limits of the 8 and 16 channel versions?

  8. I will take some more useful shots when I have a chance
  9. It is very impressive for the crappy Arecont 4mm lens. I can wait to see the difference when the Computar lens arrives. Also one thing to keep in mind bandwidth during the day isn't bad but the night images can get out of hand very quick. I wish Arecont had bandwidth controls like AXIS and ACTI cameras do. I dont understand how low light bandwidth is higher then daytime that strange to me image quality control by Arecont soft will give some control over bandwidth H.264 compression............ if I set it to MJPEG the bandwidth would be constant

  12. That image is 2048 by 1280. I know how to print screen but I don't have a monitor big enough to get the whole image when I log into the web gui. Is there a way to save the image in the web interface? -------------------------------------------------- It does not matter on your monitor res dont worry how it looks on your monitor just make shure u ask for full res Arecont cam web gui right button click "save image" should work Arecont soft put mouse on image "save image" command done Learn something new everyday.... that worked great
  13. See Full Res images on next page
  14. Thx for fast responce Can you please post full res day and night shoots or e-mail to me Thanks That shot was taken using the Snapshot setting in the NUUO MiniNVR as far as I know Arecont doesn't have a "save image" built into the camera like Axis does. Thx two ways to do it 1. access Arecont direct by web gui and get full res shoot 2. install Arecont soft and get full size shoot on another hand are u saying that mininuuo can't save full res shoots ? Thx That image is 2048 by 1280. I know how to print screen but I don't have a monitor big enough to get the whole image when I log into the web gui. Is there a way to save the image in the web interface? I have to update my Arecont software to support this camera.

    4 channel NUUO miniNVR

Well just means you can't use 4 5mega pixel cameras on the system. The question is what is the limit on the 8 and 16 versions. Over all this is the only thing that I don't like about the unit.
  17. Day Time shot with Arecont 4mm lens.... The Computar H3Z4518CS-MPIR 4.5-13mm lens comes Monday.

    4 channel NUUO miniNVR

Sorry was a little vague with my last post. Looks like the total bandwidth for the 4 channel is 20 megs. Here is a screen shot:

    4 channel NUUO miniNVR

Well right now I have the Arecont 5 megapixel h.264, Arecont 3megapixel 3130, ACTI-4201 and AXIS 211 recording on the box and everything is working well. Only problem is looks like you have a total of 20megs throughput for all cameras. So that means you can't have 4 5megapixel cameras on the box.

Cant wait to try this out with the 5 megapixel h.264 Arecont camera.

    16 channel IP Mini

I will confirm with my supplier that the unit is available and I will get you a price. The unit is Linux based. I will try and use it with Firefox but I know it works with IE. Trigger ins/outs are on the IP cameras. You can use events to trigger outputs. Also this unit is setup for web based log in but you can use the client software to connect to multiple miniNVRS.
