    Avigilon

??? unless you are using thermal cameras you will need either IR or white light.
  2. thewireguys

    Avigilon

Do you have any specific questions? Top quality product with the best support in the business. They have a end to end solution from the cameras to the VMS. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other brands like Genetec, Milestone..... but Avigilon does what 95% of customers need better then any other system.
  3. I received a error with the lic file. I didn't feel like waiting for support so I just spun up a new VM and I will install from scratch.
  4. Which analytics have u decide to use with camera (Axis) ? Thx I can't vouch for it since I haven't tried it on my own Axis cameras but there 'apps' available for these cameras. I'm curious myself how well they work. http://www.axis.com/products/video/compatible_applications/index.php Scroll down to: eLPR - Embeded License Plate Recognition IPconfigure is the App that does ALPR on the camera. Only works on Q1602 or Q1604 cameras http://www.ipconfigure.com/products/lpr/index.html Here it is with Avigilon's new Lightcatcher camera
  5. FYI the Q1604 is not a Lightfinder camera. The Q1602 camera is but it's only D1 I have been testing the Q1604 with the IPconfigure ALPR app for a about a week now and have not been able to get it working reliably. According to the manual you need 150 pixels for the LP to be read. Basically you need a very tight FOV and the cars must stay in the lane. Also I would not use ALPR to control gates alone. You could easily steal someone's plate or write the number with magic marker on paper and it would be read.
  6. http://miniandroidpc.com/ Great idea in theory but I have never been able to get it to run 24/7
  7. Good luck getting support from Mobotix... but yes they are built to last. Also don't get your hopes up to much for ISC East it's a very small show.

    Mounting to steel I-Beam?

The beam clamps that I posted will do exactly what you want. Go to HomeDepot and look at them.
  9. I would recommend Milestone HD Whitness Avigilon

    Mounting to steel I-Beam?

No the screw that is in it holds the clamp to the beam. There are 2 other 1/4-20 holes in the beam clamp which you would use to mount the camera too with screws.

    Mounting to steel I-Beam?

Use two of them and you use two 1/4-20 screws to mount the cameras to the beam clamps.
  12. Again here is a link to a video card that will do exactly what you want. http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/graphics_cards/m_series/m9188pciex16/
  13. Here is an option. http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/graphics_cards/m_series/m9188pciex16/
  14. You need multiple video cards or one large video card. No extra box is needed.
  15. Do you want all 8 monitors displaying the same images or do you want the ability to have different views on each display.

    Can you guess the analog?

fenderman I am not afraid if my business eroding from the cheap stuff. I don't do residential anymore systems and I have no plans to do so in the future. Clearly by your statements you have never used or installed solutions for large customers. If you walked into one of my customers with Dahua and Blue Iris they would laugh you out the door.

    IP vs HD SDI

Coax is a seperate system. IP tends to be integrated with other (data / voice) communication. If changes to the IP system are made the CCTV is temporarily out or problems can arise from changes made because of changes or additions in data or voip connections. Multipurpose use of IP can lead to timing or capacity issues. I witness that sometimes an IP camera connection can get disconnected, only to reconnect seconds or minutes later. If you have a separate system to collect and store CCTV that can be an advantage. We almost never us the customers network.

    IP vs HD SDI

If live viewing is important the HD-SDI is the way to go. Uncompressed zero latency video. Otherwise once the images are compressed they are basically the same

    Can you guess the analog?

Spoken like someone that has NEVER used a professional solution. Image quality is not bad on the cheap cameras but we don't sell cameras we sell solutions. You can have the best image quality in the world and if you can search/export video very quickly the system is useless.

    IP vs HD SDI

I agree with this but regarding stability it always amazes me how stable and trouble-free analog runs in use compared to IP. What IP systems are you using that are not stable?
