    Milestone X-Protect Go

My recommendation for you is to try the 30 demo before you start bashing them. I like helping people on the forum but this is not my core business. I don't need the headache of someone posting pricing so I am really starting to shy away from it.

    Milestone X-Protect Go

Avigilon's target customer is not your 4 camera home owner system. Milestone does market to this customer. What is so bad about that? Also lots of other higher end security products have a confidential pricelists so why pick on Avigilon?

Could you find out the make and model number of the mast? I need one for a project I am working on.

    Genetec Reliability

What RAID cards are you using or recommend? Started out with HighPoint a few years back, wouldn't even recommend them to an enemy now (arrays and volumes disappearing, and unrecoverable, without any logging messages at all, etc). Been using Areca 1882ix series cards for a while now, and they have been working well. Heard reasonably good things about Adaptec, too, but I haven't tried them yet. I just inherited a system with a Adaptec RAID 52445 in a RAID 6 for the video storage. 2 drives are already starting to fail so I am interested to see how long it will take to rebuild and how the system is effected during the rebuild.

  6. The numbers I gave are using H.264 compression and are real world numbers that I see.
  7. 720 camera should be about 1Mbps per camera and 1080 cameras should be between 6-8Mbps This would give you about 50Mbps total coming in from the cameras.

    Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I

I must agree Hik + Avigilon = very powerful cost effective solution
  9. This depends if the camera is set to CBR (Constant bitrate) or VBR (Variable bitrate).
  10. No I am not going to ASIS this year. I was there last year when it was in Philly and I wasnt that impressed to take a couple of days off to fly out. ISC is much bigger.
  11. John likes to stir the pot but I highly doubt he or his people would do this. This seams like someone is just interested to give Avigilon a black eye for whatever reason by posting this ridiculous information The person that posted this info also is hosting IPVM info and that is a big no no.... John will not be very happy

    Avigilon VMS

Wireguys - We are integrators in NJ not to far from you. We are high end AV guys and have been doing Analog Security for years with Speco and we need to move to IP quickly. We are Ex AT&T engineers so we very much understand IP but we havent been able to find nice residential Cams and NVr's that are nice and efficient and work like Apple products for instance. You sparked my interest in Avigilons products and I would love to know more. We are getting a Demo if Nuuo Titan NVR along with some small 3MP hikvision cams but from the looks of Avi's site, they have some super nice stuff. Do they have small Resi IR capable Cams ? The problem we found with VIVO and AXIS is they dont do IR and for RESI work my customers have big homes on larger lots with very little nighttime lighting therefore they need nice small IR cams. Would love to chat with you guys and see what you can offer us. Call me or email me if you can Thanks Craig Cell 732-616-1010 PM sent
  15. The model number is in the lower left image of the shot. It is the JPEG2000 Box camera. I would post more videos but posting videos from customers systems can become a issue. Now if I had a review site which I could use to drive traffic to a sister site that sells the hardware that would be the ticket...
  16. It is. It just flat works day in day out 24/7 365 Speaking of a guy who works on large systems from many different manufactures And yes it does work 24/7 I hate installing systems that I have to baby sit.
  17. How many times do you guys want to go round and round? I have spend tens of thousands of dollars of demo gear from all major manufactures. I have multiple servers running different VMS manufacturers learning them inside and out. I have installed more cameras from different manufactures then anyone in this thread and most people on this forum. If your going to complain about product that you never used give me a break.
  18. That's funny since Avigilon is cheaper then equivalent Axis camera.
  19. That's total crap. I paid between $900 to $1400 Axis cameras that buellwinkle has reviewed on his site. I would hardly call that 'budget', and their cameras are also used quit extensively for commercial installations. Avigilon is appearing to me to me much like Apple - it's all about marketing. And so I agree, there is no reason to have their products reviewed. It would dangerously expose then to the fact that there are better products out there for the same or lower price! Cool and how may cameras did you buy?
  20. icamera... It is not my decision for him to review their product. I am just telling you why it does not make sense.
  21. icamera most of my customers have 30+ cameras one has over 500 cameras. How many customers of this size (which are Avigilon's target customers) do you think read his camera reviews?
  22. Hmm, I have hard to believe that Avigilon want "buellwinkle" to do review This is no disrespect to buellwinkle but look at his target reader and current products that he reviews. They are geared more towards residential customers with a small budgets and this is not Avigilon's target customers. There is no reason for them to have him review their product. If most of his readers had 20+ cameras then it would make sense.
  23. AvigilonWorker... You make serious accusations and by what you saying I find it hard to believe you have a lot of experience with Avigilon's products. This seams more like someone has a beef with them or a competitor. If you want to be taken seriously post your real name and who you work for or stop with the games. Also why are you hosting IPVM info on your slide share site?
  24. Cliff.....Pixel search does work but it is different. Avigilon's cameras have very good on camera motion detection that is pixel based but Axis cameras use box based motion detection. When you use pixel search with Axis cameras it returns results based on your motion boxes not pixels like Avigilon cameras. You will have much better results with Avigilon cameras if you want the pixel search feature. If you want to test this the easiest way is you turn on Motion Activity Image Overlays. If you are running 5.0 you do this by clicking on the "Cog" in the top right of the client software, then "client settings", "Display" then check mark "Motion Activity" Once you have Motion Activity enabled do a pixel search on one of your Axis camera and you will see red boxes where motion is detected. This feature is very helpful to figure out nuisance motion alarms and can help save you lots of storage.
  25. Avigilon works fine with Axis camera but if you want to see the solution really shine I would recommend Avigilon cameras. I think CORE would be a good fit for your needs since you have less then 24 cameras. PM Sent
