    Demo Axis P1347 FORSALE!

Bump... This camera basically a new camera at a great price
  2. With Avigilon and Avigilon's cameras you have full control from the client software and firmware/client upgrades are pushed out from the server.

    Mobotix vs Avigilon

Sorry I must disagree. Avigilon doesn't win projects because of the sales channels they win projects because they have a great solution that is easy to install, learn and use. Curious what you thought of the T24 when it first came out?

    Mobotix vs Avigilon

I am curious why you are looking to at another solution besides Mobotix. What has your experience be like with Mobotix? What do you like and what don't you like? I think they truly make great hardware but there software is very difficult for the average person to use. If Mobotix had Avigilon's VMS it would very awesome solution IMHO

    Mobotix vs Avigilon

Interesting coming from the guy who normally slams Mobotix at any chance he has.
  6. Logging into hundreds of cameras web interfaces is neither fun or efficient... How do you handle all the firmware updates for your cameras? That has to take FOREVER
  7. I totally forgot that you have to log into the web interface of the cameras to adjust settings.... I don't miss that at all

    Mobotix vs Avigilon

I have experience with Avigilon and Mobotix. Mobotix makes a great camera but they are way behind the times with releasing new products. Also Mobotix's US support is well not existent at times where Avigilon's support is the best I have ever worked with in my 13+ years in the business Mobotix's software is torture and installing/configuring the cameras takes 10 times as long then Avigilon system. I know many Mobotix partners that have switched to Avigilon. How long does it take you to configure, install and train a customer with a 20 camera Mobotix system?
  9. We have custom built micro servers at each site and the client machine connects to all sites so they can see all the cameras on the video wall.
  10. This can be done very easy. If you value your time I would skip the NAS boxes and go with a VMS like Exacq or Avigilon. With Exacq you can use SD cards in the cameras and skip the NVRs all together. We have many projects with customers that have multiple remote sites and Avigilon handles everything very well. One customer alone has 87+ locations with multiple HD cameras at each site.

    Acti IP Dome availability?

I will be mounting my Axis outside to replace the Mobotix camera when I get some free time.

    Acti IP Dome availability?

I wasn't happy with the day time image as you can see below. What do you think? Have a look at Axis's 5MP camera. I also have that one and I am most impressed by it over the Mobotix 360. Higher frame rates, better colors and lower bandwidth.

    Acti IP Dome availability?

I ordered a KCM-7911 to test and I sent it back. I has very disappointed with the 7911 with one of the main reasons it is on 1080P resolution and the night time performance was not so good.

    Interview system ideas needed

^^^ yes that is a good system but it isn't cheap. We have done many police interview rooms using Avigilon and Exacq for VMSs

You need to answer the questions I asked before I can point you in the right direction.

1200 feet CAT5 and PVC underground Project

I have done many wireless projects with the longest PTP wireless link we helped install was 37 miles. I have also done many PTMP setups for cameras and enterprise WIFI networks. So no I am not a afraid of wireless. Getting wireless to work is easy making it reliable is the hard part Oh and the only wireless gear we had issues with was Engenous but that gear we installed about 6 years ago so they could have changed a lot since then. Also I recommend you use a solution where you can manage and monitor all APs from one interface. Good luck!

1200 feet CAT5 and PVC underground Project

Going by what you have posted already. Is this your first time installing IP cameras and wireless? If I where you I would run fiber over wireless since you don't have experience with wireless. PTP links are easy but PTMP with 7+ 2MP cameras can get very tricky if you don't know what your doing. Before you even think about designing a wireless network like this you MUST do a site survey to see what available frequency are available for you to use. What manufactures cameras do you plan on using? How much bandwidth do you see each camera producing? What VMS/NVR?

http://ipvm.com but it's subscription only. You mean the National Enquire of cctv world?

    VMS Comparisons

That is correct you have to pay for support or upgrades with Milestone. There are no yearly support or upgrade fees with Aviglion. Milestone is a good solution and each of them has their advantages. I would recommend if you haven't done so already I would get a 30 demo of each software and see which solution fits you needs the best.

    VMS Comparisons

*Milestone (last time I checked) requires a license for each video channel where Avigilon only requires one license per encoder. *There are no recurring licensing fees with Avigilon unlike Milestone. *Not sure if this is still true but Milestone would license to the MAC address of the device and if you want to change that device you must call support. Avigilon is licensed by the number of devices and they don't care how many times you swap cameras. *Avigilon's cost is per license only unlike Milestone (depending on the version) where you have to pay for the server licenses and then pay for the device license and then pay per year for support. With Avigilon you pay for it you own it with 24/7 FREE phone support. *With Avigilon's encoders/VMS you can easily have 128 cameras per server without issues. I have one site with 3 servers and 230ish cameras running 24/7 for almost 2 years without issue. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  21. Thanks I have a couple of different manufactures encoders laying around that I will test the same way.
  22. Did I say "D"? 500ms in h.264. 560ms in MJPEG. Worst latency of any system tested. How did you test it? I want to recreate what you did. Last night I tested the Axis vs Avigilon both in H.264 and connected to Avigilon's VMS and I saw nothing close to 500ms.
  23. Must be very impressive if you hide the manufacture's name.
