    IP cam Test Monitor

We always start at the head end and work our way out. I also always carry a Ruckus AP and plug it into our network then I can walk around where I need to if I need to. If your hanging the cameras before the head end is compete just use a Pointsource and a laptop. All cameras we install are remote zoom/focus so all we need to do is point the camera in the right direction so installation is very fast.

Why don't you guys start the install at the headend and work your way out? This way you don't need to invent anything to power and view the cameras.

    IP camera software

Well if you plan on switching to a new VMS you are going to need a way to get the analog cameras into the system.

    IP camera software

Are you looking for a hybrid solution? Avigilon encoders with the Core version of the software is a very powerful cost effective solution. If the GEO system is running on a computer chances are you can just replace the software with Avigilon and be up and running with the encoders in no time.

Neither Exacq or Avigilon sell direct to end users. You must contact a dealer to get pricing and products.
  9. Your pricing depends on your partner level. Silver partner level is UP TO 15% of MSRP and that is up to the distributor. This is why I refuse to sell Axis cameras I am sick in tired of seeing pricing all over the internet that is cheaper then I can purchase as a partner. As for the M3007 series I have one. I ordered and tested the ACTI fish-eye and sent it back. They say it is a 4 MP camera but it only spits out a max of 1080P and you cant get the full fisheye view from the camera. I have a Mobotix Q24 and I setup the M3007 right next to it and the Axis image quality and frame rate is much better for about half the price.
  10. Funny I have a customer with hundreds of megapixel cameras with Onssi. This customer has been using IP CCTV for a long time and the are sick of the issues they have had to deal with. We showed them Avigilon did our first install for them (all Avigilon) in record time and with zero issues. We will now be doing installs at 125 locations for them with all Avigilon and will keep us busy for years. If this is a cop-out I will take them all day long. Avigilon has many many cameras including encoders, domes, bullets , box, 180/360, PTZ and the highest resolution single imager cameras on the market. I have yet to have a customer that we didn't have a solution for.
  11. The problem your going to run into is your are not going to make enough money per job to spend the time you need to showing the customer what is good and what isnt.
  12. It is extremely hard to make good money installing CCTV for residential customers. Most want cheap gear and don't want to pay what it cost to install equipment properly. To succeed in the residential market you need to do volume. FYI I started installing voice/data, audio/video, security, Home theater and automation 14 years ago. Since I started by own business in 07 I have ZERO interest doing any install work for residential customers.
  13. I love bidding against ADT ADT= Always Done Twice Just have a quick look at the reviews on there Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ADT?fref=ts
  14. I have some systems in the field with ACTI, Axis, Arecont cameras and Avigilon VMS without issue. Using 3rd party cameras with Avigilon is no more difficult then using cameras with Exacq or other VMS providers you need to have support and the right firmware. We are also starting a very large project which we are taking Panasonic, IQI, Sony, Arecont, Axis cameras into Avigilon but all new cameras will be Avigilon.

    Private School Surveillance, Please Help

^^ that sounds about right. A safe way to ball park pricing for a professional install of analog gear is about $1000 a channel. This includes DVR, camera, cable, power supply and extra parts.

    Any smaller shops installing Avigilon?

Avigilon doesn't sign up everyone as a dealer. You will have to meet minimum sales expectations and be able to prove you understand how to install IP video solutions. FYI Avigilon's target market is not small business 1-4 camera systems even though it works very well for those needs.

Jomadav.... Normally we start at the headend and work our way out to the cameras. This way as the cameras come online we can aim them as we install them.
  19. I have installed hundreds of domes and kept this issue to a minim. He can tilt that camera down till the top of the image is the top of the door and they issue will minimize or go away completely.

Anyone put these in club/bar yet?

I my experience with HD-SDI camera they would work well in low light settings. So far the cameras look great but the DVRS software is useless when it comes to searching and exporting video.
  21. Tilt the camera down so the lights are not in the FOV
