    IP cam Test Monitor

All you need is a camera, Point Source, two patch cables and a laptop.

The other option that I have used is a wireless network. Most customers don't have a network that can handle the video or don't have on at all so I normally have a Ruckus AP on me that I use for our own network. I also agree the Veracity Pointsource is very useful tool.
  3. If you have power at both locations and line of site you can do wireless.

I could see how that could be a problem for you. I just rebooted a Aviglion H.264 dome camera and the FOV/focus did not change.

Survtech.... You have some very unique needs in your line of work. Our only issue we have had so far is vibration knocking a camera out of focus other than that customers have be very happy with remote zoom/focus cameras

    IP cam Test Monitor

We always have a customer onsite to approve the camera's FOV so it's real easy with radios.

No software is needed just plug your laptop in and access the web browser of the camera. FYI I have like 3 of these which I never use because I find them to be to inefficient. 2 guys with a radio is much faster.

    Help with my project

It can be done depending on your budget !! I have seen SUVs with multiple PTZ cameras and a command center inside that can stream wirelessly to other vehicles.

Survtech.... FYI that Razberi unit is OEM'd and I can't for the life of me remember who the manufacture is. Jomadav... 99% of the cameras we install have remote zoom/focus which saves a tremendous amount of install time. When we have to focus manual cameras normally we use 2 guys with 2-way radios to focus them or a laptop and wireless link. I will be ordering a Microsoft Surface PRO or Sony Tablet PC for installs. http://www.microsoft.com/Surface/en-US/surface-with-windows-8-pro/home
  10. Yes that is no problem as long as you have enough channels on your NVR
  11. All you need to do is add a switch at your camera location where you want to add another camera. Plug cat5e cable into switch Plug cameras into switch
  12. We have had temps in the teens for the last week. I have Avigilon cameras mounted on the top of one ski resort directly in the line of the snows guns without issues. H.264 box camera in a Dotworkz housing. The snow guns turn these cameras in to giant hanging snow balls.

    Acti D51 and E51

This why you ALWAYS test cameras and VMS before you sell them.

If they are really using 2.02 then motion should work

    Is Acti running Onvif 2.2?
  16. FYI unless you own the telephone poll you can't install a camera on it.

And no unlimited data plans How far away do you want to be from the other car? Will the vehicles be moving? Will you be able to see the other vehicle?

  19. Do you currently own Aimetis or are you just testing it? What don't you like about it?
  20. If your using ACTI cameras use ACTI's storage calculator it will be the most accurate

    Internal PTZ with IR

Finding a small PTZ camera is easily.... finding a quality small PTZ camera with built-in IR will be impossible. What software are you planing on interfacing this camera with?
  22. ^^ Kawboy Do you have this camera or have you used it?
  23. At VGA resolution you are using something like 1-5 megabits per second depending on frames per second sent. So even on a 100 megabit switched network you would have enough bandwidth for dozens of cameras. If you aggregated multiple cameras into 100 megabit PoE switches and then uplinked them to a gigabit core switch you could run even more. At VGA resolution you should be well less then 1Mbps per camera.
  24. ^^ I agree I really like that ceiling mount idea that they showed in the video
