Recommended budget/residential NVR software?
thewireguys replied to voip-ninja's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
My issue with Avigilon's business strategy is that I'm not comfortable dealing with individuals I don't know and paying them whatever they think I can afford. That is how I interpret unpublished pricing. That's fine when dealing solely with large business and/or government-only products that are sold exclusively by sealed bid but, IMHO, isn't suitable for the average guy who wants to shop around because there isn't an Avigilon corner store near him to see things in person. Avigilon's reps would therefore have to be EXTREMELY professional and trustworthy for me to be able to judge whether or not I wanted to do business with them. I'm sure that there are others on here that feel the way I do and whose need and budget fits with a system that isn't sold in a dollar store. Again to my point this forum is not Avigilon's target customers. Now can we please go back to Q-See / Dahua products. -
Recommended budget/residential NVR software?
thewireguys replied to voip-ninja's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You have any proof I am "piming out demos"? If your accusations where correct wouldn't I want buellwinklie to do a review so everyone would just start emailing me their credit card numbers.? I have given demos to qualified people only and I could count the customers I have on this forum on one hand. Stop with the BS -
Recommended budget/residential NVR software?

Software yes they have a low small business level license. Camera wise they start off on the Axis P3346 level. The magic happens when you use there cameras and VMS together -

buellwinkle Your readers are not Avigilon's target customers so they have no need for you to review it. -

Avigilon - servers
thewireguys replied to dnewsome's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Enterprise allows unlimited Client connections. Standard allows 5 Client connections and Core allows 2 client connections. You will need to upgrade all servers to Enterprise if you want to view all of them at the same time. Your dealer should have explained this to you. -
AXIS P-1214E outdoor covert IP camera
thewireguys replied to sequoia's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Why not use this Axis camera with Avigilon VMS? Avigilon will also auto discover the camera. FYI I am ordering this camera on Monday. -
ONVIF 2.0 does not support motion. ONVIF 2.2 does support motion. Dahua is yet to upgrade to 2.2

IP camera on a moving vehicle real time monitoring

Unless your a government entity your going to run into bandwidth caps and you could have to pay HUGE overage fees. I have worked with a couple of interesting solutions that are analog based that include integrated live mapping with sensors for speed, braking, G-Force and Role over. If you don't need live streaming you can use a system that buffers the video in the car and then off loads the video when the car gets back to home base. Over a wifi network. You say you want to monitor over 1000 cars. Say your playing 49$ a month per car that would be $49,000 a month without any overage fees -

Any feedback on the new E31 bullet from Acti yet?
thewireguys replied to Razer_SE's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
On the new E** cameras where are the connections for audio and I/Os?. The only reason I can think that they did what they did so you could bench test the camera without having to dissemble them. No problems crimping rj45s I have done thousands of them. -

thewireguys replied to Razer_SE's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think you have to cut the cable IF they have a RJ45 at the other end. If it is the same design as the old 1231 you could not pass a cat5 cable with a RJ-45 end on it though the Cable Gland. -
Are analog cameras limited to 480p?
thewireguys replied to JackOfAllTrades's topic in General Digital Discussion
It's the resolution of the of the recording device the limiting factor -

If this is the real image of the new e** cameras this is the dumbest design I have ever seen for a camera let along an outdoor camera. -
Super low light camera at ISC West
thewireguys replied to cglaeser's topic in Trade Shows & Conferences
Guys I have the camera but I haven't had time to play with it in a while. This is a $600+ B/W only box camera that needs a housing to be used outside. With that in mind it low light image is fantastic and is something we plan on using with VideoIQ encoders for extremely low light settings where we can't use IR. -

Blueiris/Exacq/Avigilon vs hardware NVR
thewireguys replied to beardog's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Typically you will only have FPS limitations when using NVR box like Dahua. Exacq and Avigilon do not have FPS limitations. -

Funny I never have any problems with Avigilon crashing or camera connection issues -

I have found Milestone to be a pain in the @ss to install and configure. They tie the licenses to the MAC address of the cameras which is nightmare if you want to switch cameras. -
Can anyone explain this?
thewireguys replied to richuk123's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Nah, can't be that, it's fixed iris. Right this camera is fixed iris. I have seen this before on the TCM-1231. Basically every night the image would be lighter or darker then the night before. We gave up trying to fix them and just stopped selling them because of the trouble. I also saw this issue with a VideoIQ camera which does have auto-iris and that turned out to be the issue. They replaced the camera and everything has been fine since. -

thewireguys replied to richuk123's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It could be an iris issue. -
What support? Lol. I also find it funny that an online retailer is complaining about margins.

Dahua supports only Onvif 2.0 so no motion detection.

Mini/small NVR suggestions
thewireguys replied to destro_23's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have built NVRs that are the size of cigarette packs for some projects. It all depends on the software you want to use.
