MegaPixel Cameras - Images and Demos
thewireguys replied to rory's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Thewire takes a picture of his TV, posts it here with no other information, my only assumption is he's showing off his TV or the camera that took the picture of the TV. If I posted a picture of my car with no other information, would I really expect you guess what brand camera it has, what brand camera I used to take the picture of the car or what brand of oil do I use? But if I was a guessing man, I would say the camera used to take the picture of the TV is a also a Samsung as thewire appears to be very brand loyal, possibly a Galaxy Nexus. Nah, I just looked at the picture metadata. There, I solved the mystery, the camera used to take the picture and what's in the picture. Carl you really think I posted that pic to show off the TV or the cell phone? -
I think it depends on the level of customer you are serving. Small business and residential is a good fit but larger customers will have a problem with lack of manufacturer support.

MegaPixel Cameras - Images and Demos

You guys are awesome thanks for the free advertising They will have our new small business package in stock for resale in the next week or so. Sorry I don't have more info right now but we just went though a hurricane so power and network connectivity are major issues right now. Once have our packages and part numbers completed trust me you will be the first to know!! This is a new technology most of you never heard of before so you will find this very interesting. Better image quality then Dahua but at the same price point Once power and WAN connections are up I will get some exported day and night images. -

In the last 5 years I have seen ONE customer with Pelco IP cameras and they wish would have went with other cameras. I tested their 1.3 MP PTZ camera and it was OK.
-
Your kidding my right? Pelco's IP products are not known as the top of the line stuff. Pelco in general is not what they used to be.

Dahua cameras now at Costco

from their Facebook site "With its ability to connect to cameras over the network, an NVR allows the owner to place the system in a completely different building, city or state and still have real-time surveillance where it’s needed while keeping the vital recorder away from unwanted attention." So they can stream real time 1080P video from the camera to a NVR over a WAN connection. -
The best choice between IP cam to secur a vast yard
thewireguys replied to ab2reza1360's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
$3K per camera is a good budget but keep in mind you will have additional costs besides the camera (Licenses, Network and servers/storage...etc) Avigilon has a very nice solution and I have a very long list of happy customers which is growing everyday. Myself, Tomcctv and Ak357 have extensive experience designing and installing large enterprise IP camera solutions including Avigilon and other systems. -
Flashing cameras, Costco, and doom for all retailers?
thewireguys replied to Kawboy12R's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
So in your eyes it's everyone elses fault when you try to experiment with firmware that wasn't designed for that distributor and you would have no problem suing Dahua if the camera was bricked. -

So you don't think they could have different firmware for different distributors? The same way there is different versions of Andriod for different devices. Could it work yes but is it right to abuse there return policy so you can test it I think not. -

Flash Qsee firmware all you want but don't you think if Dahua wanted you do flash their firmware on Dahua cameras (let alone Qsee cameras) they would have them for download on their site? -

You could try different VMS software that supports rotating the image. Maybe Acti's free software supports it. -

Depending on the VMS that you are using you can rotate the image to be a little more pleasing to the eye. It's some times called corridor view. -

Sorry there is a big difference between returning a product that you are unhappy with or is defective to when you intentionally hack the product and it no longer works because of that .
