Dahua cameras now at Costco
thewireguys replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I spell one word wrong and now it's mistakes plural, but putting your arrogance aside, this is Costco's return policy (including its one spelling error). If I can't hack something properly, then I'm not 100% satisfied. COSTCO'S RISK FREE 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE Membership: We will refund your membership fee in full at any time if you are dissatisfied. Merchandise: We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell with a full refund. The following must be returned within 90 days of purchase for a refund: televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, touchscreen tablets, MP3 players and cellular phones. So you in no way think that what your recommending people to do is taking advantage if their return policy? Lets put the shoe on the other foot and lets say you owned the store. How would you feel if I ordered every crappy Dahua product you supply, bricked them and sent them back to you for a full refund or exchange for a new one? -
Dahua cameras now at Costco

I just don't get how you think it is morally right to promote to people that they should flash firmware to cameras that is not designed from them and let the supplier take the hit if it fails. Because I am sure your not going to tell Costco's return department what you really did. -

Need help finding a VMS software/NVR for my application
thewireguys replied to shanef's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
How many hops do you have on your network? I have deployed a lot Avigilon and I have yet to see a 1 second delay. Also has other have said you are always going to have a delay with IP cameras... HDCCTV is the only way your going to get HD image without a delay but this does not run over the network. -
Acti vs. Dahua - reviewing video

Yes you can play back up to 36 cameras per screen per client machine at the same time. -
I have sensitivity set to 2 and threshold set to 95 and it still misses objects daytime and records all night long.
-
What is the price of that camera?
-
Well the ACTI camera says 4MP but it only outputs 1080P and the night time image is extremely noisy. The Q24 is a full 3MP image and your right it can't do 12FPS at full res but I don't need 12FPS for overview cameras. And I would rather have 2 really good image then 12 crappy images.
-
No thanks on the stardot cameras. Overall I am just not that impressed with the Acti camera. The main issue is the motion windows, there is only three of them and they just suck at picking up objects far away and the camera record all night long because of the noise..... The Mobotix Q24 is much better camera.

Dahua cameras now at Costco

Dahua supports Onvif but it is limited to 2.0 at this point. -
I just got a Acti KCM-3911 in for testing and I am disappointed. If you have any sky or sun in the FOV everything is washed out. Also they only have 3 motion detection windows which are useless for objects that are far away. Sensitivity is set to 95 and threshold is set to 1 and I am missing lots of motion events plus at night time it records constantly because of all the noise. Night time performance is not so good too not that I expected it to be.

Avigilon is the least CPU intensive VMS I have used... even less then Exacq. No server side motion detection all motion is done on camera. -

If the end user would like a demo license please let me know...... Keep in mind Avigilon does NOT sell on the web and you MUST purchase though a dealer so I don't. Also pricing is forbidden form being posted on the web. Please contact me via PM or email if you have any questions. -
Acti vs. Dahua - reviewing video

Acti camera's are fully supported..... Dahua cameras are supported though ONVIF. Right now motion detecting is supported with 2.2 (which Avigilon supports) Dahua does not support 2.2 yet. Don't hold your breath for direct Dahua support and I don't blame them for that. -

With all due respect Buel.... Avigilon smokes any other VMS including ACTi when it comes to reviewing video. If reviewing video is important to you then Avigilon VMS is the way to go. If you need a demo license please let me know. -

If you want to review video fast I would recommend Avigilon VMS and Acti cameras. -

I don't see us winning ANY of the large projects we have if I would have tried to sell them Dahua cameras. -

Dahua does NOT warranty the cameras the supplier you purchase they cameras though does. My question is what happens if your supplier goes out of business? Who will support the cameras. -
