HID edge and Infinias sytems
thewireguys replied to thewireguys's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Hay Winky it's The Wire Guys This is a blast from the past.. We are not using either of these system but thanks for the info. I found another solution that fully integrates Aviglion and adds access, alarm and building automation all in one package. -

Exacq trigger for a garage door opener?
thewireguys replied to alpine0000's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
No voltage needed to control the door. You need a relay for the camera to trigger and connect normally open and common to the garage door controls. -

Does this happen only happen in the Nuuo client or do you have the same issue when you log into camera's GUI? Here is what I would do. Check to see if the camera has the latest firmware. Factory default the camera. Take the camera down and plug your computer directly to the cameras and see if you still have the same issue. -

Exacq trigger for a garage door opener?
thewireguys replied to alpine0000's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You should not need any voltage to trigger the door. Just take your control button off the wall (chances are its just a door bell button) and touch the to wires together for a second. The door should open or close. I control mine door with my ELK automation panel and I use 1 sec pulse. -
Need help choosing PTZ IP/Megapixel
thewireguys replied to what-da's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Avigilon 2mp ptz camera. This is a fantastic camera that is super easy to install and awesome image quality. I was able to test if next to a Axis P55 ptz camera and I preferred the speed and image quality from the Avigilon PTZ cameras. Pm me if you have any specific questions -
Yes it works I have done this many times with VideoIQ

Can you have too much light?

You will not have a issue with Raytec because they have a adjustable output. -
Axis IP cam and wireless access point
thewireguys replied to JimS's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
2.4 will do some none LOS but not as good as 900mhz. Also on some of the Ubnt unit they have POE to power a camera but the output is not AF compliant so it will only work with Ubnt's cameras. -
Define "issues". Have you tried following a moving vehicle? A person running? 500ms latency is nearly impossible to overcome. For instance, a vehicle traveling 25mph moves over 18 feet in 500ms. A person running at 10mph moves over 7 feet in 500ms. Tough to follow, especially when you zoom in. When you add the PTZ "run-on", which Avigilon couldn't explain at all, it makes for poor control. I was referring the issue of the encoder not communicating with the PTZ camera. I have a couple of analog PTZ cameras connected to the encoders with pelco D and over 1000+ feet.
-
I have had no issues of controlling analog PTZ cameras with the encoders.

We just completed evaluation of an Avigilon system. Latency was disappointing (>500ms) and the Avigilon joystick even more so. And it was v4.12. I asked the Avigilon engineers about the latency and was told that their encoders buffer 6 frames. That's 200ms alone, without including basic encode/decode latency. No wonder total latency was so high. I will have to confirm but this new latency optimization mode might just be with their new PTZ cameras. Either way I want to get more info on this.

Recommendation - ExacqVision system
thewireguys replied to bpworker's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yes you need Avigilon cameras/encoders for the pixel search to work. Basically every manufacture does motion detection differently and most do a box style motion detection where to create a window over the area that you want motion to be detected. Avigilon does this differently where they do more of a per pixel motion detection which is more powerful and lets you do the pixel motion search in the VMS. Here is a video on how to view recorded video, bookmark, search and export video. http://www.avigilon.com/support/training/b_2/small.html -
Recommendation - ExacqVision system
thewireguys replied to bpworker's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I would look at Avigilon over Exacq. Avigilon has no recurring fees, cameras are plug and play, the video search feature smokes Exacq, and you will spend less money on a Avigilon hybrd system. Now it you have MAC computers and don't want to run windows on them then I would recommend Exacq. -
I have completed several large projects with Avigilon they have no issues handling 300+ camera projects.

Well unforchantly your stuck with pixel based motion detection then. FYI that software I recommend is designed for residential systems. Best of luck
