  1. Where are you you naming the cameras. In Avigilon's software or in the Vivotek camera GUI?
  2. Buellwinkle.... Sounds like you have a review that would very interesting to read
  3. all of them can but what happens when I drive fails? Get a good RAID card What are you asking all these questions for? Are you looking for a VMS system?
  4. First thing you need to do is figure out your hard drive read/write speed and then you can figure you many cameras you can throw at it. I have one system with 28 total cameras with a mix of 720, 1080 and 5MP cameras. Right now FPS is at 10 and I could double or triple the camera count if I needed to depending on the FPS that the customer needs. As for the ATOM box I was feeding it over 100Mbps of data without issue.
  5. I have used ATOM based machines to record 16 and 29 megapixel cameras. If you pick the right VMS CPU power will not be an issue. As you already figured out hard drive I/O is your limiting factor.
  6. Your time changed on the server that's it. Set it up with a NTP server and let it go. FYI Avigilon does not store the camera name on the server it is stored on the cameras/encoders so it's a issue with Vivotek. FYI Vivotek is not on the support list and ONVIF is iffy. I HOPE you tested this BEFORE you sold this solution to a customer. Yes he is correct with the spot monitor just have the customer shut down the client software and open it again and whatever you had displaying on the monitor with show up again. Are you a dealer? Did you talk to support?
  7. They will record what ever resolution you set them to record. If you have a 5 MP camera you configure the VMS to record @ 5MP.

    Outdoor PIR Sensor

All motion detection is done in the cameras or encoders. you will not reduce any CPU power with motions and you should not be using much to begin with.

Can we make this required reading for all new members
  13. I have need to hear this from the Dahua tech What do you mean by that? I simply want to here more about this from a eyesur tech. Sounds like the software is missing one of the most basic and important features of a VMS.

  16. Setting up remote access with cellular networks may not be that simple. Some networks do not give public IP address so port forwarding will not work. Also keep in mind your allotted bandwidth which can easily be excited when your stream video and not to mention your terms and conditions.
  17. Again yes Clearpics OEMs Exacq and limited a limited Avigilon solution which is more expensive

Most versatile audio solution to this application?

See Shockwave I told you we agree on a lot of things. Coming from a former DJ for over 16 years I recommend a PRO DJ. It's your wedding day and last thing you should be worried about is the sound system or your computer crashing. How are you planing on connecting a mic for introductions and speeches? What about requests? Do you plan on spending this day with your new wife or in front of your computer at the reception? If you do plan on running the music your self at least rent a proper sound system. A couple powered QSC or JBL speakers with stands will not cost you much for the day.

Sean those cameras are not as big as you would think. Shock.... curious how much have you spent on you total system?

When you look at the coverage you get from these cameras the pricing is not bad at all. 4 cameras, 4 licenses plus 4 times the labor where these cameras just one camera but give you the coverage of 4. I have installed many of the 180 cameras and they are very useful when used in the correct applications. I even used one for a LPR setup and it worked very well. Now with that being said for a home owner that is looking for a toy to play with they can be expensive. But it comes down to picking the right tool for the job.

  22. Just received this today for testing. It comes with 2 lenses and the remote is extra. Very curious to see how this unit will perform with HD/Megapixel cameras. And yes I will be testing it with Avigilon and VideoIQ cameras http://www.rayteccctv.com/_assets/library/a222919e8c877ab34e730662e7a704eefa999111/Raymax_Vario_i2_v1-2.pdf
