Camera to cover driveway at a distance and close up.

Your going to be hard pressed to find a dome camera that has 100ft of IR. I would add a external IR and call it a day. -

Are they rolling this out to all stores? Every Subway that I have been at in my area has a different system. I have not seen any of the back end stuff but every store has a mix match of cameras. ADT kit systems and lots of no name lip stick cameras and no name domes. Do you know what software they are using? -

REVIEW: Exacq Start NVR Software
thewireguys replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
With Exacq the camera licenses are assigned to the MAC address of the server you can switch cameras as may times as you want. Exacq does not have inboard motion if your cameras don't have inboard motion Exacq will record 24/7. Overall not a bad review but you missed some of the issues that you could only figure out if you use the system for a extended period of time. I do have a review request for you.. http://networkoptix.com/ They are new to the market and the have some very interesting software that runs on Cross-platform: Linux, Windows and Mac. Best part is your first 4 licenses are totally free. -
Most Cost Affective IP Cameras Under $300

I am sorry but the CNB VCM-24VF is the most overrated camera. Good in low light but that's it. -
New setup for small shop. Where to position and what camera?
thewireguys replied to Integraoligist's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Totally agree. In this day in age you have a much greater chance if getting sued for slip in fall then getting robbed. We just completed the 30,000 sq/ft night club/event center and the new manager told me it expects to get sued once a week 1) Liability claims 2) employed theft 3) hold ups Also anther great location for ID shots would be if you had a large menu on the walk where people have to look at to order. Place the camera next to the sign looking out at the customers reading the signs. Also depending on the location of the sign and the resolution of the camera you can cover a lot more. -

Right now nothings is as good as analog when I comes to low light. There are some IP cameras that are starting to come close in performance but your going to pay a lot more for them. -
Bump.... If you find them cheaper on the web from a authorized dealer I will match the price.

New Home IP CCTV System with airCam
thewireguys replied to HiroPro's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I am not a Genetec Dealer and your not a Genetec Dealer and just like Avigilon posting pricing on the web is forbidden. Your making assumptions about lots of things that you admittedly know nothing about. I am done here. -

New Home IP CCTV System with airCam

To answer to these questions you need experience installing many difference systems and spending tens of thousands dollars on gear to find out what works without having someone pulling the levers. -
New Home IP CCTV System with airCam
thewireguys replied to HiroPro's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Is this an honest response or a lame attempt at being facetious? I've never deployed this stuff nor have CCTV expertise but this is the conclusion I come to with little research. #1 Genetec Security Center #2 ExacqVision #3 Avigilon #4 Milestone I'm sure each slot is debatable but the list of 4 seems on the money to me. Now I just need to know what cameras are decent for the money. Looking at the following Axis cams: P3367 Q1602 Q1604 and the M11 series for in-store isle monitoring etc for cost affective deployments. This thread started out with you asking about UBNT cameras for a friend and now your asking about solutions that support thousands of cameras Are you a tech savy friend that is looking to help out a friend or are you looking to become a dealer? Your ranking of VMS is interesting and all depends what this system is for. Genetec has great software if your deploying large systems or you want it to integrate with everything but your going to play for it. I don't have a lot of experience with Genetec but from what I have seen and the feed back from customers I get is it's not the most "user friendly" to use. Exacq is good (I used to sell a lot of it) but again it depends on what you want to do with this system. I stopped selling Exacq because I was having issues camera connect/disconnect and customers where complaining about searching video. -
New Home IP CCTV System with airCam
thewireguys replied to HiroPro's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Avigilon's software is developed in house along with all of their cameras which are all developed and manufactured in house. Pricing Genetec > Exacq If your looking for online pricing for Avigilon products your not gonna find it, online sales are not permitted. If you would like pricing contact a local dealer for a demo and pricing. Best of luck with your research.... Just remember don't believe everything you see in the flashy tube videos. -
New Home IP CCTV System with airCam
thewireguys replied to HiroPro's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
With all do respect you have lots of research to do. No other solution on the market can match the integration level that Avigilon's VMS and cameras can plus Avigilon's support and warranty is the best I have worked with. Also there is no paid training with Avigilon its all free unlike Genetec, Axis and Exacq. If your looking at Genetec I would look a Axis for cameras. VideoIQ does video analytics but they only run on their cameras and encoders so at this point the only way to use third party cameras with them is if you use analog cameras. VideoIQ also works with Avigilon and Genetec. -

Genetec is nice stuff but keep in mind it's best fit for large multi site 500+ camera systems. You started this thread asking about Ubnt cameras and now your asking about the most expensive system on the market Large systems: Genetec Onssi MIlestone DVTEL Medium systems Avigilon Exacq VIdeo-Insight Aimetis And there are many more if you dig for them.
