Camera Delivery - FedEx or UPS?
thewireguys replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in Security Cameras
No one on this forum can answer that email GEO and ask them Where did you read that this camera locks up? I have one but I haven't had any issues locking up. -

For future reference you should ALWAYS check your NVR/VMS manufactures supported camera list before you purchase a new camera. I am no GEO expert but I don't see the WV-SC385 on the list http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/product/SupportIPCAM_Panasonic.asp You might be able to get it to work with ONVIF but that doesn't mean PTZ controls will work. RTSP should work but no PTZ controls just the video stream. -
Avigilon recordings.. How to delete (or disk space needs)?
thewireguys replied to camera-newbie's topic in General Digital Discussion
There are 2 ways to delete recorded video. 1) delete the data base using ACC administration or 2) in the "recording and bandwidth" page unlink the camera and change the Max. Record Time to 1 day. After 24 hours you the video for that camera will be deleted. Avigilon does this for a reason. Deleting video should not be a easy task. *edit If you wanna change the recorded data base size (which it sounds like you want to do because there is NO way 4 analog cameras filled up 650GB of storage in a couple of days) do that in ACC Administration which is located on on your server. -

It's all gonna depend on your drivers. Both company's will have bad apples. Personally I think your over thinking this alittle -

Agreed it is a impressive demo but I think it has limited applications and real time monitoring is not one of them. $100K per camera Side note I am thinking of picking up the Gigapan head for my 7d. Only $900 http://gigapan.org/cms/shop/store -
Nuuo Titan or Exacq NVR
thewireguys replied to tmescan's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Where are you located at? Keep in mind your install labor in mind. You can install a Avigilon system in about half the time it takes Exacq or NUUO with third party cameras. -

thewireguys replied to DAWO's topic in General Digital Discussion
Yes it can. The analytics are automatic and no setting min or max for object size. Just mount the camera aim and focus. FbAWYB24Qdw -

Cheap IP Video Encoders?
thewireguys replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
That's probably the root of my problem. I've been using Geo for 10 years and I can't break the habit. Also though, I've seen the IP encoders from Axis and they seemed expensive. I mean, there should be a cheap solution to convert an analog signal to IP, I'm talking like $50 per channel or something. But I know that probably will never happen. Well Avigilon is very close to that price. -
Axis Camera Companion - weirdness solved

Good to know. You should try the new Exacq on camera software too.
