    Cheap IP Video Encoders?

You have other options if you switch from Geo. Avigilon has the cheapest full 30FPS encoder on the market and Axis has some newer low cost units too.

  3. I would stay away from wireless in this situation. Why not use a analog camera and encoder?

    Auto tracking technology

Problem with auto tracking PTZs is what happens when you have 2 or more objects
  6. FluidMesh is good as well, have used that before. If you need a gig probably better of going with an optical link if you've got something solid to mount it on? IP / digital cctv is definitely the future, makes wireless very possible. Should think analogue cctv will be dead in a few years time. Fluidmesh is nice but not cheap and there MITO units are Ubuquiti NanoStations with custom firmware. Ruckus would give us 300Mbps but for the same price you can now get Ubiquiti's new AirFiber units and do 1.4Gbps.
  7. Yes what systems are you looking to be monitored?
  8. What wireless gear do you us? Mostly Ubiquiti stuff for simple hops. Alvarion for more mission critical stuff. For more unusual sites we use a variety of mesh gear. We have tested a lot and the Ubiquiti gear always comes out well even against equipment costing 10x as much. You can easily get 75 meg both ways out of a Ubiquti bridge up to 2 or 3km costing £50 in total. Can't run cat5 for anything like that. Agreed we have installed Ubiquiti, Fliudmesh and Ruckus. It's hard to beat Ubiquiti. We use Ruckus PTP links when we need more then 100MBps but Ubiquiti can now do 1.4Gbps over wireless for the same price
  9. LOL Mobotix has been doing this since 1999
  10. My question is how many ports do you have to open for remote access? Since your connecting directly to the camera I am assuming you will need to forward at least one port per camera which can be a PITA.
  11. What wireless gear do you us?
  12. Axis just released "Camera Companion" a FREE 16 channel VMS that supports local SD recording and NAS recording just like Mobotix except it is much easier to use. To bad installers make no money installing Axis cameras http://www.axis.com/products/cam_companion_software/video/installation_tutorial.htm

    Just found an old treasure...

Add a RJ-45 jack on that Lets see 12 outlets. All are used 2 UPSs 5 power strips
  14. I see that you never play with HD PTZ cameras at all )))))) if yes your video welcommed... Picture is very good to that light condition and task which it sovled. One more this is not fixed camera. And this is restaurant with special light conditions.... it is not lighted as in supermarket ))) Windows there are tinted. I have played with lots of HD cameras including HD PTZ. I would love to know the shutter speed in that clip that would tell you in black and white Overall that is a decent image unless need to ID people walking past the camera. Why a PTZ camera in a small place like that? For the price of that unit you could get 2 or 3 other HD cameras and cover that whole place without missing anything.
  15. Kt&C with an encoder. http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewforum.php?f=88
  16. Nice video but to bad the people walking by the camera in the restaurant are totally blurred out
  17. No.... use a analog board camera and encoder.
  18. How many cameras and what resolution are you using? I would recommend you have a look at Avigilon. They are much lighter on CPU requirements and so it is easier and cheaper to do client machines. Not to mention your overall system cost less and will be easier to install and maintenance.
  19. 32 cameras that's it?

Cloning MAC address for little downtime

I understand what they are trying to do but either way I think it was a bad move for them.... They should have just increased the license fees $15 or $20.

Cloning MAC address for little downtime

That's for after hours or high priority response, basic phone support is still free (for now, anyway). Interesting from what I was told integrators will have to buy tickets for tech support. Tickets cost $110 each and no end users will be able to get phone tech support.

Cloning MAC address for little downtime

And don't forget Milestone is now charging $110 per phone call for support
  24. Thanks. Just curious, how come you never tried to use it with GV-NVR? Are you using it with the built in software, or something that works better than GV-NVR? I am not a fan of GV. Not saying its bad it's just not my cup of tea. I have used it with Exacq and Avigilon.
