New PTZ Megapixel IP Camera's
thewireguys replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
That's correct. Sony has a couple 1080P PTZ cameras and Panasonic is also coming out with a 1080P PTZ. None of them are under $2000 -
What equipment are you planing on using for this project?

Exacq loosing connection to camera
thewireguys replied to misha's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Sorry but the "re-connection time" is a band-aid and does not always work. Why do you even need that setting? When I connect the SAME cameras on the SAME network to Avigilon VMS they connect instantly and every time. Basically your systems will not be recording video for a minimum of 10-15 seconds when the power goes out and the system restarts. How are you gonna explain that to your customer if they get robbed and they have no video because the cameras didn't reconnect? -
Exacq loosing connection to camera
thewireguys replied to misha's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have had re-connection issues with Exacq and Sanyo, Axis, Acti, Vivotek, Axis and Arecont. Basically when you would restart the server cameras would take FOREVER to reconnect. Now this is different then the major issues with Arecont where cameras would drop off line with Exacq but are still accessible though the web interface and I could ping them. Only way I could get them to connect again was to power cycle the camera or delete the camera from Exacq and re install the camera. But this is a major issue with Exacq because you only have access to the video when the camera is connected to the system. -
Issues with IQeye cameras
thewireguys replied to miljamitv's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
"IQinVision has established a standard 5-year “bumper-to-bumper” warranty on the IQeye Alliance-mini dome camera line and a 3-year warranty on all other IQeye cameras. Unlike other manufacturers in the industry, IQinVision’s warranty covers all moving parts, sensors, filters, fans, motors, lens assemblies, shrouds, and slip rings." -
Exacq loosing connection to camera
thewireguys replied to misha's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I am having this issue with the AV10005DN and AV8185DN. Both with Exacq and Avigilon. I am doing some tests on my Avigilon server to find out which firmware works the best. -
Exacq loosing connection to camera

I would call support and ask them what firmware they recommend. *edit Or you could check here => https://www.exacq.com/support/ipcamdetail.php?id=a525bbd4-8c88-ac39-aa77-4dd18af007be -
Exacq 4.9 Released - Thumbnail Search and more.
thewireguys replied to dmiller9's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I can't wait to see this..... FYI I have Exacq licenses for sale if interested. *edit Just got done playing with 4.9. Why they added thumbnail search but you still have to pull the video from the server to the client machine before you can view and search video. -
IP Cameras local network/bandwidth
thewireguys replied to tmescan's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
ISP connection speed has nothing to do with local network recording. On a basic network your switch and NIC cards determine your network speed -

Question on Video Encoders / CCTV to IP conversion
thewireguys replied to LC475's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
And how is that a bad thing? Well if you already got an VMS running other then Avigilon, then they aren't much use. It doesn't matter much ofcourse if you start building installations, but it does matter if you already got excisting installations. Razesdark The H.264 encoders are supported by 3rd party VMS. -

thewireguys replied to LC475's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
A) using Avigilon VMS is not a bad thing b) there encoders are Onvif and work with other VMS c) show me a encoder with a better image then Aviglion's and I buy you a beer -
NVR Bottleneck ?
thewireguys replied to dolson11's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Without knowing the VMS and the total in/out bandwidth we are just guessing.
