I have been very happy with the Apply Air... It can run anything I throw at it. Windows or MAC.

I will make it very simple for you. This is not Avigilon's model so stop complaining about it "Large busineses and government will sometimes shop around. They will also compare quotes" FYI where I live Government projects HAVE to get multiple bids and they do without online prices. Their model stops DYI from installing products that they have no clue how to install and they can control the quality if the solution.

chesterfield How would you like it if we told you your making to much money? How would your react? They want the product to be installed by professional installers that know what they are doing. They don't want 10K phone calls from end users that don't know how to design and install the product correctly. Airports, stadiums and large business are not gonna shop prices on the web. They want integrators that know what they are doing and are going to be around to support the product.
  11. Your gonna need some mega battery's if you what this to last for a month. I have some fuel cell options but your looking at 10K for just the fuel cell.

    MSRP and CCTV debate

Was the site you found the price at a authorized dealer? Are they gonna help you when you have questions? I know you have IT experience but no offence that means very little when it comes to IP video. It doesn't do much to impress your FREE support group either It's designed for smaller business NOT end user sales or web sales. Trust me I have PLENTY of work for medium to large projects, government and police departments. I don't care about quantity I want quality and that is what keeps customers coming back. A wise old man once told me "If your good at what you do you have to go find the work, If your the best it finds you"

Avigilon does business the way THEY want to and you do the business the way YOU want to. Your pissed off because you don't know how much the dealer is making for the product. GO BUY something else!!!!!!! Why you have piss and moan because you can't find the price list on the web is just nuts. Avigilon is not marketed towards home owners and they don't want product to go directly to end users so because they want the system in be installed properly. Period end of story your not gonna change them. If you want products that are **'d out to everyone look at Milestone and Axis. AVIGILON DOESN'T WANT DIY INSTALLATIONS. That is not their market.
  15. What do you mean by lag? What model Arecont cameras are you using? What compression are you using? What FPS are the cameras set at? Do you know what latency is? Is this your first IP video install?
  16. Yea my bad I read this to fast.... I missed the AND................ carry on now The system shall utilize, at a minimum, 5 mega-pixel (IP) cameras and high-resolution IP Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras.
  17. Sorry but there is no such camera. 5MP PTZ with 35X optical zoom..... You can get a fixed 5MP camera or you can get a 1080P PTZ with 20 optical.
  18. Keep in mind there is snow all over the ground which is helping this camera out ALOT.
  19. I would check the settings in the Redwall and see if you can adjust the duration of the output. Edit: just checked the manual NOTE: Re-set time is approximately 2 seconds rkolb86: I would check the manual and see if camera is designed to provide power out for other devices.
  20. Thanks for the in depth opinion on the other manufacturers. Ive played with the geovision software, and found it a little clunky if Im honest. I have read bits about milestone, exacq and vivotek and would like to see demos or have other peopls input on whether these systems would be appropriate. Do you have any opinoins on these three? I also sell Milestone and Exacq but after our first Avigilon install we haven't looked back. I got tired of having to upgrade firmware to get cameras to connect and having to call at least two different company's for support with each of them saying it's the others issue. I also didn't like the fact customers have to pay yearly upgrade fees and I hated waiting for Monday for support. I didn't like the fact end users would get screwed by unauthorized dealers who sold their products and had know clue what they where doing and cost the customer lots of extra money. But you can get all their prices anywhere on the web.
  21. With all do respect you don't know what your talking about. Your assumptions are incorrect and your pissed of because you can't shop prices on the web. Here is a list of other manufactures. Keep in mind their is a lot more to (most) IP solutions then just plugging them into a switch. Milestone Onssi Exacq Avermedia Geovision Axis Vivotek Acti Mobotix Stardot Basler Sony
  22. The prices that your look at are the old enterprise level prices. Avigilon now has 2 lower cost VMS offerings which are geared for smaller systems for much less money. Before you make assumptions about a product please contact a partner for a demo and to get full understanding of the product. I also agree with Tom I would recommend a hybrid system. FYI that is a confidential document.
