Help with design of brand new system.
thewireguys replied to chesterfield's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
As parters we are not aloud to post pricing. But I can tell you the pricing you posted is way off. Also keep in mind is not marketed for the residential market. -
Help with design of brand new system.
thewireguys replied to chesterfield's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
As a Avigilon Partner I totally disagree. Avigilon doesn't ** themselves out to like most other manufactures they want there product to be installed by professionals that know how to design, install and support the product. You will not find online sales of Avigilon equipment and you will have a hard time finding bad reviews on the product or support because it is that good. I recommend you look for your local Avigilon partner and request a demo. When you compare a Avigilon solution against other VMS solutions Avigilon is 99% of the time cheaper then the others. If I was located in the UK I would help you out. If you want more info please PM me. -
Need advice going from DVR BNC Out to HDTV 100 ft away

I would use the VGA output to feed your HDTV... You will be much happier with the image quality. -

You are way over exaggerating bandwidth issues Do u so confident that? Maybe you would say default lower resolution, if you do why should take Megapixel camera, you could estimate at least 10 units 1.3M to output 720P video stream. I know you are probably sales rep for some brand. Pls... Sorry no sales rep here ..... Integrator that has been successfully deploying HD/Megapixel solutions ranging from 1 to 200+ cameras for the last 5 years. The 24 port Cisco PoE switch which he is planing on using can easily handle 24 megapixel cameras with 10Mbps streams

Best Option for a Decoder

If you need to show the same matrix view on all of the monitors you can just use one client machine and send the video over CAT5 (VGA or HDMI) to as many monitors as you need. -
Third party software while using Exacqvision server?
thewireguys replied to Louie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
No Avigilon does not support dual streaming from the cameras to server. They use what is called HDSM which manages the streams coming from the server to the clients when using Avigilons JPEG2000 and H.264 cameras. Also Arecont does not support dual streaming it has what is called "ROI" and you can only use that feature if your using Areconts software (which I strongly do not recommend). -

MegaPixel Cameras - Images and Demos
thewireguys replied to rory's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
GVN you are acting like to discovered a huge secret cover up by Avigilon.... The information your talking about is clearly listed on Avigilon's dealer site. Like I said before the PRO line by Avigilon is a tool just like any other camera. Every technology has it's limitations the trick is to know them and us the technology where it is the best fit. Sounds to me like to lost a project to Avigilon and your pissed about it. You hide your name and the company you work for. Sorry there is no honor in that. -

I work like you, I'm system integrator, But I work only for my customers's interest , I "married" no one manufacturer... There is no .. "tools" for this BIG problem.. ... exists only avoid strong lights ... Outdoors?? Why the truth, that you will not like it, means to be a troll? bye Gvn "right tool for job" meaning use the right camera for the right job. Understand the limitations of your products and use them in the correct situation. Every technology has limitations. Troll meaning you have 8 posts all harping on a issue that is well know. You also have no info about yourself or company. List the products that you use and I can tell you what issues they have too. -

thewireguys replied to rory's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
no much worse.. CCD SMEAR .. big.. ENORMOUS... TERRIFYING CCD SMEAR!! ( ..please.. read the Avigilon's Technical Bulletin ) But in the real outdoor applications.. in REAL situation.. is not possible to use this camera! You can trust, are very few applications as possible with this CCD 11-16-29MP cameras! bye Gvn GVN I am aware of the CCD smear/blooming and as you already know Avigilon doesn't hide this. . It's all about using the right tools for the job. I have seen this camera used in REAL outdoor applications and it works very well but you must understand how to use it. Are you going to say who you work for or are you just gonna troll? -

thewireguys replied to rory's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
GVN why the hate on Avigilon? What company do you work for? This is not a "low light" camera and Avigilon never clams that it is. Avigilon does have sample video from the 16 and 11 MP cameras at night on the dealer site. We are currently testing the 16MP at a customers site for parking lot coverage so I don't have it right now. Currently the customer has Arecont and IQI 5MP cameras and they just don't have the resolution that they need. I will be back on site next week to see the results. I will be doing lots of day/night testing with this camera and when I have some video that I can post I will. Keep in mind most customers that want/need this level of camera/quality don't want images posted on the web Edit found some this from a post earlier...
