What your looking for is called a Hybrid DVR. Hybrids will record both analog and IP cameras on the same box. Something like this would work for you. http://www.averusa.com/surveillance/productdetail.aspx?id=138

Looking for a good NVR system...
thewireguys replied to fastsoft's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Before you can answer this questions we need to know the requirements of your system besides remote viewing? Are you using HD/MP cameras? Will the system mostly be used for live viewing or reviewing recorded video? -

IP Camera system or Analog digital confusion
thewireguys replied to seancctv's topic in General Digital Discussion
Axis has a mobile NVR but it is pricey. You can make any computer into a mobile NVR as long as meets your VMS requirements . Some day when I have time I wanna try my Mobotix Q24 in a mobile environment with 3/4g router. http://www.mobotix.com/eng_US/content/view/full/25611 -

Highest Res and Quality From 8 Camera System Under $5,000?
thewireguys replied to SmallBusinessUser's topic in System Design
The analog image was recorded at 720 by 480 and exported at 720 by 480 using a Lossless JPEG2000 compression with quality set at 6 with 1 being the highest. As for the Avigilon pricing it is not something we can post on the web. -

Closing in, Need Recommendation - Arecont or Acti?
thewireguys replied to Wildcat1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have installed many Areconts and only had 2 cameras fail over the last 5 years. Both where the new 8185D/N and they both failed within 2 weeks. As for VMS software if you want MAC support and Iphone support I would look into Exacq. -
VMS for mobotix
thewireguys replied to lemike41's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Are you in the US? I strongly recommend you check your local laws when you think about recording audio. You can get into some serious legal trouble. -
VMS for mobotix
thewireguys replied to lemike41's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Let me know what you find. I use Avigilon every day with a Mobotix Q24 for my demo system and it works fantastic but if you need audio your SOL. How many Mobitix cameras do you have and what are you using the audio for? -
VMS for mobotix
thewireguys replied to lemike41's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Avigilon only supports MJPEG from Mobotix so that is why the bandwidth is higher. Unfortunately you lose most of the advantages that Mobotix has when you use 3rd party software. If Mobotix MxCC was like Avigilon ACC that would be a killer package. -
Ah Speco aka the motion blur cameras.,

LAN SWITCHES FOR IP CAMERAS
thewireguys replied to djbestman's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
If your planing on using POE to power the cameras it is very important to make sure you have enough available power on the switch to support your total camera count. -
If you were going to install a 10x camera system for busines
thewireguys replied to johnny916's topic in Security Cameras
^^^ agreed. I strongly recommend you order some cameras and DVRs to test out at your office/house before to make promises to customers you don't know if you can keep. The best form of advertising is word of mouth and if you piss of your first costumer you will have a long road ahead. Remember 1 happy customer tells 1 friend, 1 unhappy customer will tell 10 friends.
