Advice on MultiSite NVR System

If you only have a 256K upload to the headend how are you gonna take advantage of the 10Mb upload at the headend? -
Advice on MultiSite NVR System
thewireguys replied to Snooty's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Not sure how you think your only gonna have one stream from local to headend. If your viewing more then one camera your gonna have multiple streams live or recorded. Typically you would install a server at each site then use client or web software to log into and view the cameras that the admin lets you have access to. Have a look at Ipconfigure, they might have what your looking for. It is enterprise and all browser based. http://www.ipconfigure.com/ if you need contact info let me know. -

IP Multicasting
thewireguys replied to mujju_433's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Multicasting is designed to reduce network bandwidth when you have multiple clients or redundant NVRs. You well need network switches that can support this. -

Camera choice for Exacqvision
thewireguys replied to bankingguy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You would do all of the video setup in Arecont's AV100 software NOT in Exacq. -
You could also have sensor burn from the sun depending on the sensor they use if you us an indoor only camera out doors. Bottom line use the right tool for the job. Use outdoor cameras outdoors and indoor cameras indoors.

Milestone OnSSi Genetec Exacq IPconfigure They will all do what you want. You will install a server at each site and then use the client software to view all cameras as one big system. Some systems will do it better then others, but your biggest problem will be your up load speeds. -

Nope.... I have been asking for well over a year and they say they can't because MAC support. Why do you want to switch from Milestone? What do you not like? -

I'm trying to use third-party camera viewers that don't use VPN. Is it possible to use VPN when only the router knows about the tunnel? Best, Christopher What device are you using to view the cameras with? if it is an Ipad they have VPN support. -

Hotel IP CCTV system
thewireguys replied to eng_moh104's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Your clients will connect to all of your servers. So you will have 3 servers per hotel (If they are 200 HD/Megapixel cameras I would think you would need more like 4-5 servers) and one client per hotel. Total of 6 servers 2 clients. Get a fiber connection between buildings so you can make one big system and both clients can see all servers. Of your worried about a server going down and not having video from those cameras that is a different problem. This can be done but it will be a function of your VMS software and I don't think Luxrot can do that. The software we use has up to 2 hot standby servers so if one server fails it will automatically switch to the backup server. -

Thank you for your reply, kindly could you recommend another platform, and how can i apply the hot standby configuration. There would be no hot stand by for the clients. It would be one big network so you client locations could see each other at the same time if you would like. You could then setup user access to different cameras to limit access to only they cameras you want them to see. You have many options for VMS software. Milestone OnSSI Genetec Dvtel Exacq This is not going to be a cheap system and depending your camera selection you will need 4 to 5 servers per hotel to handle all of the cameras.
