    Hotel IP CCTV system

Well I would never recommend Luxriot for a system like that but what you want can be done. All you would need is a fiber between the buildings and the so the control rooms can see both networks. You have many design options with this. But keep in mind the usability with a system with this size.
  2. Like I said I would bet you 10$ that is an Arecont camera in that housing. Good luck with that camera.
  3. Thanks, but those are toy cameras compared to the EX85 when it comes to the IR Rory that is a very dated camera.... I would bet its an Arecont 3130 because it is only MJPEG
  4. Arecont has IP cameras with built-in IR.... http://www.arecontvision.com/index.php?section=product&category_id=23
  5. I disagree 1 system is easier to manage/support and use.
  6. I think that will depend on if your recording the audio or just using the system as a 2-way intercom.

    Firetide and vegitation

I have heard nothing good from Firetide customers. Wireless is not easy to do and can be very intimidating for your first couple of projects. My best advice is to do a site survey and order a demo link to test out at the customers sit BEFORE it is sold.
  8. What are the required specs? Also I think the VMS will be VERY important if your trying to do 2-way audio.
  9. You would use 3rd party VMS (NVR) or some manufactures have their own VMS (NVR) to record and control the cameras. You would use one or the other not both. As for trigger I/Os most 3rd party VMS's (NVR) can control the trigger I/Os on the cameras but you have to check compatibly. But to answer your question yes you can use VMS (NVR) to other devices using trigger I/O on the cameras like you can with DVRs
  10. Depending on the system you go with you will have plenty of room to grow. I am not a big fan of DVR based hybrid systems becasue you are locked into blocks of 4/8/16/32/64 for analog cameras plus IP. I like encoder based NVR hybrid systems because of the design and explanation flexibly.
  11. +1 for a hybrid system
  12. Avigilon needs less CPU then Exacq
  13. Meaning, you have to catch up on the back payments if you decide to renew support again. And if you want to add a new camera that is not on the supported list and you are not currently paying for support. Say you have 20 cameras and you haven't paid for support for 2 years. Arecont releases a new 50 MP camera and you want to add it to the new system but it's not on your supported list when you bought the system. You will have to pay 2 years of the support for 20 cameras + the new license fee to add one camera.
  14. Sort of......Exacq is kind of optional. If what you have works then then there is no need to pay annually, however, if you want to continue receiving updates then yes you need to pay annually. I like Avigilon but for the few schools I've done they wanted the NVR to be accessible by all platforms being used in the school. Exacq fit that bill. It is not the best out there but it runs lite and has worked for us fairly flawlessy. I wish a few things would improve but they are always making new updates every 2 to 3 months. Exacq will not shut down if you don't pay but you will have to pay at some point. I really like Exacq but they have some things that must be fixed before I start pushing it again.
  15. Think it is called port triggering on Netgear routers
  16. I have been testing the Ipad app and it works well for a V1.0. You can see live and recorded video and you can zoom into the images. Impressive to see the 16MP camera on the iPad and zoom into the image to get full detail. Also keep in mind all of you talking about the price. Avigilon is pay once Exacq and everyone else is pay every year.
  17. I think he is referring to IP cameras.
  18. You need to setup ROI in the AV100 software "Opening triple ROI (near, mid, far) makes iris adjustment for depth of focus easy."
  19. Agreed^^ 5MP cameras need good glass.
  20. Did you setup any ROI for the lighting?

    Design an Outdoor CCTV system

If your looking for low power IP cameras I would look into Mobotix

    adt camera

easiest way to up grade is keep the ADT dvr and use the look outputs to your new DVR
  23. The little standalone installer works okay (not great, but okay)... it's just too bad they don't actually make it readily available. Unless things have changed recently, they only thing they provide on the bundled CD and on their website is their full setup/NVR package... and the installation for that doesn't give you the option to NOT install the NVR, or to set it to NOT start automatically with windows. Yes you can stop it from starting with Windows.
  24. Where are you adjusting the settings? in the Av100 software or the camera's web interface?
