VMS viewing station CPU usage
thewireguys replied to RedSq's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
72 in a 16X9 format, 100 in 4X3 format (same in live or playback-although multiple monitors are supported, as well.) BTW, I just tried that out, those are pretty small squares, even on a 1080p 42" monitor! Milestone support told me the limit is about 24 cameras depending on your computers hardware and the resolution of the cameras. -
ProVisual DVR-16214-AQH-1 vs. IC Realtime DVR16D30 DVR

"8-16TB storage" How long do you need to store your video? I would recommend a Exacq Hybrid unit. This way you can add MP cameras is you need HD cameras. https://www.exacq.com/products/exacqvision_start.html -
VMS viewing station CPU usage

So the solution with Milestone and MP cameras is to reduce image quality to get more cameras on the screen? Does it automatically adjust ito better quality f you only have one camera displayed? How many cameras can you view at one time with recorded video? -

This is from their new NVR that they just came out with and look at what the limitations are. Notice they don't have anything over 1MP for H.264 and look at what the limit is for 3MP using JPEG. -

Why not incorporate them into one system? How many analog cameras do you have? Do you have a computer to use to record the IP camera/s?

@dima.kravtsov So what SSD's do they use?
-
Sorry I disagree on the SSD vs HD debate. I work with a company that installs mobile DVRs in police cars. The DVRs all came with SSDs and they all failed with in a month or two. They switched all SSDs to HDs and have not had problem since. Also they make HD that are designed for use in vehicle and high temp applications since SSDs are not good for constant writing. http://www.seagate.com/docs/pdf/datasheet/disc/ds_ee25_2.pdf

I work with a company that installs mobile dvrs in police cars. All of them came with SSD drives installed but they all started to fail with in a month or two. They replaced them with HDs and everything has been fine since.... I do not remember the manufacture of SSD. -
ProVisual DVR-16214-AQH-1 vs. IC Realtime DVR16D30 DVR

I have a problem with a company that doesn't train its salesman and techs properly. This guy was telling a room full of people false information that are intern going to tell customers this information. -
ProVisual DVR-16214-AQH-1 vs. IC Realtime DVR16D30 DVR
thewireguys replied to Inventour's topic in Digital Video Recorders
ProVisual DVR-16214-AQH-1 is a Hybrid unit that supports up to two HD-SDI cameras NOT IP cameras. Keep in mind chances are you will be limited to ProVisuals HD-SDI cameras. I am not a fan of ICrealtime ever since I was at a demo where the salesman was telling everyone that their D1 camera's where HD quality. The guy had no clue what he was talking about. If your looking for a Hybrid solution I would look at Exacq Hybrid NVRs. You can use analog and IP MP cameras on the same box. https://www.exacq.com/products/exacqvision_start.html -

The only IP LPR camera that I know of is the Mobotix. All others are analog with encoders. -
# of cameras and limit writing to 1 hard drive continuously?
thewireguys replied to mike_va's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Streaming BR movies does not even come close recording video streams. Keep in mind when you are recording video to hard drive we are reading, writing and deleting at the same time. -

thewireguys replied to the lemming's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Well, I thought I had a pretty good idea about video motion detection, but maybe I'll pay attention to more of your posts and try to learn some new things. You've clearly got this figured out. -

No it comes down to facts and knowing what your talking about. FYI that was totally uncalled for and disrespectful. I am not sure why you enjoy pissing everyone off on this forum but I think is time you should move along.
