Hi! Your dvr works with analog cameras (cvbs), with resolution 960h or D1. Your new camera works in new standard Analog High Definition (aka AHD) with resolution 2mp. It's incompatible with your dvr. However some ahd cameras can switch to cvbs mode via wire joystick or locking special wires if they present. You need buy any CVBS cameras or AHD 4in1 cameras (can switch to cvbs mode) No, actual Qsee models wth QT not compatible with your dvr. There is AHD cameras. in my opinion Qsee not a good choice afterall. They have no detailed photos and instructions in their site. Therefore it is difficult to choose right.

It all depends on the camera. 720p system can work with 1mpx camera only (720p comression) 1080N system can work with 2mpx camera (1080N compression) and 1mpx (720p comression) For 2mpx AHD cameras you cannot select 720p compression only 1080 or 1080N 1080N is better than 720p regardless of compression. 1080 better than 1080N
