Where SNMP is not available, you can use the ping command to determine that the IP enabled CCTV is reachable as a node on the network. What other DOS or command line tools and commands are useful for monitoring CCTV networks? What can you gather using each tool/command?

I know you can monitor CCTV network switch ports for bandwidth greater than a given threshold. In addition to determining whether the network has enough bandwidth to properly operate, what other highly useful things can you learn from CCTV network switch ports surpassing a certain bandwidth threshold?
