Hi, I have a specific related to timestamps. my client is using HIKVISION NVR solution to capture CCTV from 50 cameras, and problem are the timestamps. For some reasons, although all the cameras use NTP service keep correct time for a lot of them the feature is not functioning correctly i.e. time starts slipping and cameras are not in sync. I would like to remove time stamping on the actual camera, and create timestamp on the NVR (so time stamping at the time of saving) This would provide unique timestamp for all connected cameras (as there is a single time involved, that of the NVR). The result would be the same, just that all cameras would definitely have the same timestamp on the same NVR. Now, with HIKVISION I never managed to get the NVR to place the timestamp onto the image, the option to add timestamp would actually send a command to the camera and start the time stamping on each individual camera. Did I miss something on the NVR? Is there a solution that you would recommend that could replace HIKVISION and provide this functionality? I am looking a boxed solution not a software only solution, and with a reasonable price tag. Any suggestions?

Hi ak357, I have contacted the only guys I could find in UK that support Avigilon, hoping they get back to me (tech guy was on other line so expecting a callback). What price range are we talking per NVR, could not find anything anywhere online. I would need 64 channels support per location (and three locations), can be either single box or multiple boxes of 32channel min. Max

They are using IVMS right, but we have, just for the purpose of testing added additional software based NVR to the network and camera time stamps are wrong on both NVRs. So the issue is not IVMS but the NTP driven self time stamp on the individual cameras. Actually, we installed the software NVR just to test if the software will enable us to timestamp on the NVR level, which it did, so pictures have two timestamps one from the camera and one from the NVR. There are about 60 IP cameras currently up and running in the business and because of a huge price tag connected with the cameras they are not willing to invest into 60 new cameras. They are ready to replace this with any NVR system that will remove time stamping on the camera level and use single timestamp source (the NVR) to avoid any issues in the future. I am not an expert in CCTV so don't know all NVR brands and models and am trying to help out finding a solution that will work. You have any idea? Thx Max
