I hate to keep replying to myself but I'm pretty sure I have it figured out. I think what I have it a non-POE camera. So I will have a cat5 coming out of my router (which is directly hooked into my nvr) into a powerline adapter. I will then have another powerline adapte plugged into my garage with a cat5 coming out of it into a POE switch. Then from the switch into the camera which from what I understand will be all I need.

I might not have explained it correctly. I have the following camera that I want to use as a "wired" camera and not a "wireless" camera: Inline image 1 I also have the following powerline adapter that I was going to use as an ethernet connection between the camera and the router that the nvr is plugged in to: Inline image 2 I thought I could use the ethernet port that is on the camera to create a "wired" connection but now I am thinking that I need an extra adapter like a poe injector like this: Inline image 3 Can you tell me is this setup will work to create a "wired" connection? Thank you.

The problem is that the 5th camera will not even show up on the monitor that is physically connected to the nvr. So if it won't show up on that then it won't show up on anything else whether is is the app or the pc.

I have bought a Northshire 4 camera setup from amazon. The 4 I have hooked up currently are wireless and are working fine. I have since bought a new camera to add on but am trying to run it through cat5 since it is too far away from the nvr. I can currently view the 4 cameras remotely just fine. When I hook this new one up directly to the nvr system it shows up no problem. Whenever I hook the camera up to the router then it does not show up. The camera did not come with any software. I have tried to hook the camera directly to my laptop via cat5 straight through and cat5 crossover cables and downloaded many different pieces of software but it never shows up. Whenever I hook the camera directly to the nvr and it shows up I see that the nvr assigns an internal ip (172.x.x.x) to it so I assume the camera is running DHCP by default. So based on that I can't figure out why it is not assigning an ip once hooked into the router directly. It does not come up in the router client list. It's like it's not even there. I am assuming I need to change the settings on the camera itself to match my gateway on the router 192.x.x.x in order for it to show up. That also doesn't make much sense if it is in fact set to DHCP then it would do this on it's own. I am at a loss and am looking for any information regarding this. Thank you in advance.
