Is there a DVR that can replay the last couple minutes
Sentience Security S replied to totojones's topic in Digital Video Recorders
That’s funny, you didn’t really answer the question and suggested low quality equipment. Kudos to you. I don’t charge for advice, I charge for time to do a remote login and design a system for another integrator. Time is not free. I wouldn’t urinate on a Lorex system, they are pieces of sh*t. -

Need DVR Suggestion for Swann Cameras
Sentience Security S replied to MartinsNews's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hm, I gues I never noticed that because I don’t use bullets, ever. Always thought it was Dahua. Anyways my earlier statement still stands then, LTS or hik is the way to go. -
Help with zmodo DVR please , cant see cameras in IE
Sentience Security S replied to tacon's topic in Computers/Networking
Sounds Ike you need an expert to do a Remote Desktop and troubleshoot this for you. My company offers this service at $75.00 per hour. Should be able to diagnose the issue and give you a free DDNS account once we get it back up and running. -

Hikvision and LTS have an alarm function that allows a relay to hit the DVR and then push a notification to the app. Once you click on the notification it brings up the alarm screen and you can tap “enable live view” “view recorded video” or “trigger alarm output”. When tapping the second option it plays the video of the motion event or the alarm event that has been relayed through the NVR to relay the nearest camera to that sensor. Hope that answers your question! If you need help I could assist you with this project for a consulting fee. -
hikvision dvr access with public ip
Sentience Security S replied to dnmmalta's topic in Computers/Networking
Younneed to forward the RTSP and HTTP port as well. Try putting your DVR LAN into DMZ mode and see if that fixes the issue. If it does then that’s likely your problem. I would also use a different port for HTTP, something like 65. When logging into the system via the browser you would then go to the address ex: exampledvr.dvrlists.com:64 or 108.65.765.10:64. This will both increase the security of your system and should help solve any port issues. -
Samsung cctv ports being used on new router
Sentience Security S replied to megannibbles's topic in Computers/Networking
Try to DMZ the LAN for the DVR to verify it is a port issue. If you DMZ and it still doesn’t work you have other issues. -
You can’t go wrong with that unit. axis is GREAT tech. I say pull the trigger if you have the cash. I am an Axis distributor, I may be able to get that for you at a discount. What price are you paying online?

Need DVR Suggestion for Swann Cameras
Sentience Security S replied to MartinsNews's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Swan is rebranded Dahua. Any HDCVI or ONVIF device will work fine (CVI for analog, ONVIF for IP). In partial to LTS and hikvision but they use TVI not CVI. Although I have connected existing Lorex, q-see and Swann cameras to LTS dvr’s Before and had it work. -
16 channel with 1 camera not displaying
Sentience Security S replied to mnbvcxz's topic in General Digital Discussion
In most cases yes, if you can’t see it on the monitor it’s not recording. You probably need to recheck your terminations and power supplies, sounds like something isn’t quite right on that camera. What’s the tech you are using and the run distance? -

Gated Community ... HDCVI or Fiber??
Sentience Security S replied to cesecure's topic in System Design
It’s POE, you don’t need to do a utility drop for nanostations. It’s a much better option then trying to tap the PED or ONT for fiber from a trunk line. Unless there is already internet at the location site to site is the way to go. We have ran into 25 or 30 such occasions at guard towers in a gated community. The infrastructure just wasn’t there. But we were able to relay site to site and achieve consistent 150/150 over the air. -
Q-See NVR won't boot.
Sentience Security S replied to drkailey's topic in General Digital Discussion
So the BIOS must be stored on non volotile memory. There won’t be a way to push a firmware update if you can’t get the system to boot. Probably time for a new NVR. -
I know LTS is Hik OEM, everyone knows that. Just like northern CCTV and all the other off brands that use them. Same as Lorex and Q-see are dahua OEM. I like LTS because of the warranty and the excellent support. I’ve been using them for years and never had a complaint. And I’ve installed thousands of systems.

We wouldn’t do that job for a dime under 12k. You wayyyyy underbid that for IP. Like the other guy suggested, go with TVI. I’m assuming this is probably a red dot special though and will end up being the install from hell...

Sentience Security S replied to cesecure's topic in System Design
Check out ubiquiti nanoststations. You can shoot gigabit over 15km wirelessly from point to point. You’ll need to mount a pole so you can get above the tree line, but it will be cheaper than what you are wanting to do. -
Yes, it’s possible. And you can use the NVR or DVR to relay everything. PM me and I’ll help you design a system.

Whats the best camera foe Farm Yard security
Sentience Security S replied to bicc's topic in System Design
What’s your budget? I have some pretty amazing 2.1MP auto tracking PTZ cameras with 395ft IR that won’t break the bank. But since your application is indoors we could probably offer another solution that doesn’t utilize IR. Is this the only camera you have or are you looking to port an entire system over to an NVR? -
residentail camera position help/suggestions
Sentience Security S replied to tadakan's topic in System Design
I don’t understand why you are placing the cameras in those locations, without seeing the Home I don’t think anyone is going to be able to help you. You have overlapping camera shots, and your placement seems very redundant. Would need more info to help you out buddy. -
You will need to run cabling from the mounting locations to the DVR. Without internet the wireless functionality will not work unless you are just setting it up for local viewing through a router. What’s your budget?

Q-See NVR won't boot.
Sentience Security S replied to drkailey's topic in General Digital Discussion
Your hard drive is dead. That’s about how long those cheap Costco systems last (if you are lucky). They probably didn’t use a surviallance level hard drive and the thing finally just crapped out. No hard drive, no operating system, no OS no boot. -
My cameras are only producing a black and white image
Sentience Security S replied to adam2017's topic in General Digital Discussion
You need to shade the camera while powering it off and then back on. This will reset the IR cut sensor and it will go back to color. Since you are talking about VCA plugs I’m assuming this isn’t a very pricey system and likely doesn’t have an OSD function. I would invest in a new system, I doubt those cameras are capable of seeing anything even remotely approaching forensic image quality. -
Simultaneous Remote View
Sentience Security S replied to jdans's topic in General Digital Discussion
Can’t go wrong with LTS, their CMS software allows viewing up to 64 individual systems and 256 cameras simultaneously. You’ll need a beast of a computer with virtual desktops to accomplish that though. -
I wouldn’t suggest Lorex, at all. I replace Lorex equipment constantly for clients and it just isn’t high quality. LTS has just launched a 4K line, but they are a bit above your price point I think. I doubt you need all that quality, camera placement and lens is just as important if not moreso than resolution once you hit the 2.1MP (1080p) range.
