16 cam. split on 4 screens - how?
robert posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Customer wants 16 Arecont Vision cameras on 4 screens for live view. How to do that? What software/hardware? -
cctvexpert, You seem to know what you are talking about, thats good. But please dont take it as offensive conversation - its discussion forum where people discuss stuff, somebody knows more, somebody less. Its going to be OK Just proove it if you got something to say and others will just have to agree, if not - they will shut up
-
Yes it is. But it doesnt mean its bad and we shouldnt buy it I could agree on this, recession doesnt do any good.

Well, I wouldnt be SO negative on megapixel CCTV 1. I cannot see any problem in network and HD video transmittion - its 21st century and there is a gigabit network out there(check google if you dont believe me ). 2. "An IP camera can never compare with an analog camera except for the use of megapixel". That is actually main benefit of them and why they are becoming so popular. 3. How are you going to get HD on analog - any suggestions, ideas? I think they have reached their limits long time ago. Its television standart that limits them, its physics. 4. "day/night issues" Its not an issue - they just need much more light than analog. Just chill

Arecont Customer Service Portal

Does Arecont have built in server?! -
Is it something VERY special to mention? I though Arecont Vision was the same, click and go. It shouldnt be the best point about your products You better paste some camera spec and images
-
First of all - you cannot connect megapixel cameras to DVR as it has BNC connectors against megapixel RJ45 connector. Secondly - image size. Look at this comparison. Analog can show and record maximum 0.4 mpix only. http://libava-s.lv/wp-content/uploads/salidzinajums.jpg Third - installation. You can run just one cable for power and video for megapixel cameras, its POE. 4. Image quality - its amazing. etc etc
-
Dont forget what FPS Mobotix does at 3mpix. Is 4fps enough for cctv? I dont think so.

Arecont Camera the same as CBC America(Computar Ganz)
robert replied to robert's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Then I dont understand Arecont as manufacturers - CBC sells these cameras so much cheaper. My competitors started selling CBC cameras this week for 180$ less than Arecont. Does anybody sees any logic here ? -
Arecont Camera the same as CBC America(Computar Ganz)
robert replied to robert's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
How do you know that? It doesnt sound real - Arecont sells camera lets say for 500$. CBC asks to make some for them and it ends up CBC selling the same camera for 400$. No sense here -

"Axis camera also features a built-in electronic PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) function" I still cant understand - if you dont have mechanical parts, how can you pan/tilt? Can anybody explain please.
-
digital PTZ - what is it? how?
robert replied to robert's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You are star - thanks. But they could have called it just - digital zoom, otherwise it sounds a bit misleading as there is no Pan or Tilt function, just a zoom. PTZ means you can rotate camera around. -
New Axis HDTV network camera !!!
robert replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Well, then you have seen very little amount of megapixel CCTV videos HD - marketing trick and it doesnt cost 1500$ but 700$. Cant see any reason this camera to be special. -
