New Axis VGA H264 cameras soon
robert replied to robert's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Axis make nice products, but price price price. This is Axis 207 - in my opinion fantastic value for money. So it means that these new cameras will be even more better and if price would stay for around the same as Axis 207 - amazing products for superb price. -

robert posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Guys, Anybody knows where to find camera like this? 1. ip cam 2. progressive scan 3. ports: RJ45, RS232, at least 10 I/O ports 4. Built in memory - at least 32mb 5. Must be able to plug in GSM/GPRS modem ar additional module. 5. 640x480 This camera will be used on highway for monitoring purposes and will send images to central server via GSM network. I searched google, but cannot find any manufacturer who makes this type of camera. -
Probably an Axis, as they have built in web server. Oh yes, iPhone must be the best
-
The same with me - they are afraid that crime will go up, but dont have money to buy stuff. So, it really feels that i`m getting less sales.

get phone with at least Symbian Series60 (V3) OS on it. And of course - as bigger the screen, the better view will be.

Looks nice software, downloaded, tried, looking good for lenses, but not so good for storage calculation and network bandwidth as its shows completely different numbers compared to Arecont Vision calculations. But yes, difference is quite a bit

how to link cctv streaming to a website

Guys, anobody streaming Arecont cameras on web? How do you do that? As far as I know, only Axis have built in web servers and can do that just Plug&Play. -
There is one easier http://www.dallmeier-electronic.com/en/products-electronic/cameras/view-designer.html
-
Why dont you contact them and ask for local dealers in your area/region/country?

I can tell you one thing for sure - there are only few companies on this planet which make great products - Arecont, IQinvision, Mobotix and a bit of Axis. All other brands - waste of money, crap. Just no point to touch them. These companies are leaders and nobody will make anything better for that money. Trust me - take for example Arecont 3mpix camera AV3105 which is H264 camera and does 15 fps@2048x1536 - you will be amazed and will never buy analog again But dont forget one important rule - DO NOT buy any other lense than Computar, Tamron or Fujinon. With this AV3105 - no bandwidth issues, no storage issues - superb. For a NVR server - do not buy some extra costly Dell systems, just do it yourself. Get for example SuperMicro(http://supermicro.com/) chasis SC828TQ-R1200LPB, chuck in some Western Digital 1TB hard drives(I suggest model number WD1002FBYS, its for RAID), drop in Intel Xeon Quad Core X3360 2.83GHz, FSB1333, 12M, S775 processor, some memory and off you go. Easy mate Good luck.

The problem is - I can`t turn by hand lets say 1/10 of mm to get perfect sharpness. How do you do that? Any tools?
-

-

Then I should look at it again. I cannot download any software from their website, its asking for username and password. Do you know where I can get some demo or trial? What about price - which one is cheaper?
-
I was looking at ExacqVision once, load of video on youtube. But it did seem a bit complicated to me. Whats your experience with it? Have you used Luxriot?
-
Thx I use original Arecont or ExacqVision I can get u video clip done by soft which use true H.264 just incredible 10 frames per second for 20 sec at 1600x1200 only about 2.2 MB woow, thats impressive Luxriot are going to release new version in next few weeks, H264 will be supported there. Please drop me that video to rbsarg AT gmail.com

any pix samples ? What soft do u use ? Luxriot - rocks. Based on Arecont SDK.

This is image from the camera i did get in focus and I do like it myself. I dont have those out in focus at the moment. http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/7559/kr1qk8.jpg

I even tried to use Arecont software, digital zoom and then focusing - but still no success on 2 cameras, I dont like it myself, so I wont leave it like that for a customer. Just one camera looks super sharp, great, I love it.
-
Arecont Vision 1/2 camera +Computar 4-8mm varifocal 2/3 lense. I dont remember wich end, but 4 or 8 mm - complete fog, so you dont really get full range 4-8. I think probably because of format difference. I have few mm less to play with.
-
Yes I can. I tried with ring, without ring, but picture doesn`t seem to be 100% perfect sharp, a littlebit smooth. Its fine on one camera, but on other 2 not. I can feel your pain just finish 5 -3100 DN install was using chinese 1/2 '' lenses in general I dont think i will be using Arecont anymore have a look pix was resize 1024x768 http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn217/ak357/1024x768.jpg HUGE mistake - using anything else than Computar, Tamron, Fujinon Everthying else - rubbish, not talking about some kind of Chinese miracles But picture seems to be ok to me. What tools do you use to focus varifocal lenses? I do have in stock all "famous" lenses cant see big difference I use my hands as "tools" dont have big problem to focus But do you notice that varifocal lenses have less sharper images than fixed focal lenght lenses?
