How to set up varifocal lense?

Yes I can. I tried with ring, without ring, but picture doesn`t seem to be 100% perfect sharp, a littlebit smooth. Its fine on one camera, but on other 2 not. I can feel your pain just finish 5 -3100 DN install was using chinese 1/2 '' lenses in general I dont think i will be using Arecont anymore have a look pix was resize 1024x768 http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn217/ak357/1024x768.jpg HUGE mistake - using anything else than Computar, Tamron, Fujinon Everthying else - rubbish, not talking about some kind of Chinese miracles But picture seems to be ok to me. What tools do you use to focus varifocal lenses?

How to set up varifocal lense?

No, i dont have any other lense. I was probably very lucky to get in focus one of them. But should it be much more easy to get varifocal lense in focus?

How to set up varifocal lense?

I know that and I can rotate rings. But to get perfect focus you need to turn rings by some 0.01mm 0 but how do you do that? I personally cannot.

How to set up varifocal lense?

Well, it doesn`t make any difference, does it? Its just that you cannot turn ring for example by 1/10 of mm to get it in focus. But its 4-8mm, 2/3 lense for megapixel camera Arecont Vision with 1/2 sensor.
  6. No idea why they need I/O ports It also must have have ability to attach some kind of GSM/GPRS modem as module.
  7. It doesnt have minimum 10 I/O ports. It wont be some of the popular brands. I`m looking for this strange camera because government has tender with this kind of request for cameras. God knows who makes this kind of cameras. They gonna set up cameras on highways around country+add GSM/GPRS modem for image uploading to central server.
  8. But how you are going to connect 4 monitors to one pc ?
  9. I`m selling Arecont here in Europe. Few good things: 1. Price - great compared to IQ and Mobotix. 2. Frame rates, so much higher than Mobotix at the same resolution. 3. H264 cameras up to 5mpix - thats impressive. 4. Really a lot of NVS software to choose from. Bad points: 1. DN models - completely crap at night at low light levels. I must say - not point setting up DN, you better off with non DN camera and extra floodlights. Arecont website is quite not up to level compared to IQ for example - massive info on products, specs, calculations etc. Thats very important and useful.

    Mobotix

I would choose Arecont xx05 H264 series. They do high frame rates.

    Mobotix

Dont forget they do 3fps only at max resolution.
  12. Guys, How do you calculate how powerful PC you need for X amout of megapixel cameras @resolution @fps? Any examples you have installed? I have contacted Arecont Vision support and they said that any cheap PC will do the job, but I doubt that.
  13. Outside What problem do you mean ?
  14. Yes, they dont support yet, but in 4 weeks time there will be a new version with H264 support.
  15. I agree 100% Axis pricing is just mind blowing
  16. I can give some feedback now. Installed 3 Arecont Vision AV1300DN cameras on Luxriot. Writing on motion detection @20fps + 1frame each 5sec. PC spec: Intel Celeron dual core 1.6Ghz, 2gb DDR 800 ram. CPU usage is around 30-34% all the time. So, not bad I think. I`m having soon install of 4x AV5105 + 3x AV1305. Will be using Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz (1333MHz, 12Mb, S775, 95W) +3GB DDR800 ram. Hopefully it will do the job

    Veracity Lan and POE repeater

Well, its just a signal repeater. Doesnt need any power, just plug cat5 from both ends and thats it. It even handles PoE as well. Actually VERY useful thing.

    New career CCTV installer

Paul31, I would say YES. Look at telephone on your desk - its probably IP phone, look at the fingerprint readers now and access control - they are IP as well, look at the CCTV now - its moving your way. I think you can easy go for basic CCCTV course to get basic stuff what is CCTV etc, but try to become ip/megapixel installer and technician. More money/very little competition. Dont forget - its not rocket science, you can get lot of books online, use google for ANY topic about CCTV, optics, networks. And you already have bit of it - 5 yrs IT experience. IMO - it is right time to do such a move right now. P.S. Books, books, reading, reading, forums, articles, free seminars. Good luck.
  19. I have installed AV1300DN with Computar H2Z0414C-MP lense. But the picture quality is very low. See images. They are from live view from Arecont Vision software. Also, there was a hex nut key with camera. I can see that there are 2 holes for it. What to do with that? Please help http://img404.imageshack.us/my.php?image=20958190dc2.jpg http://img259.imageshack.us/my.php?image=75902106gd8.jpg http://img407.imageshack.us/my.php?image=94252399ra0.jpg
  20. Its a cheap taiwan, this: http://www.tushing.com/e/GL618.htm#GL-618 I dont have any night time images yet, I still haven`t tried setting up night view, going to do that in next few days.
  21. I can`t get you one as I`m not located in Russia. I dont know how it works exactly there, but they don`t buy licenses, they come with camera. I assume every camera comes with one license.
  22. Licenses are not free, they cost 50$ per camera. Older ver software let u use 1 cam for free rec incl In Russia for example software comes for free with camera I bought from US and I have to buy software separately.
  23. Licenses are not free, they cost 50$ per camera.
  24. No I haven`t tried, its fully open. Thank, will try.
  25. I haven`t bought software yet, can decide which - native Arecont, Luxriot or exacqVision. I installed Luxriot Demo, but I have blue noise going across all 3 cameras. With Arecont all good. But I can still use Arecont software, it just cannot record without license.
