hi robert. do you have a static ip. who is your isp. and in most cases you cant use your own external ip on your own network. you will need to get a friend to log in for you. Yes, its static IP. Its BT, in UK.

Works fine. It works from local network. I plugged in my laptop in that router, typed in 192.168.1.5:4000 and I can access DVR.

I could not find any NAT settings in this router. Are they not there or I`m just blind?

Guy walks into the door with drawing and photos of his house wanting a detailed quote for CCTV system. I do lense calculation, suggest cameras, PC spec and storage space amount etc. Then he walks away with "I have to compare with few other quotes and then I`ll get back to you". Never hearing from him again you drive past his house and see there is a CCTV already installed. What happened - when he knows every single piece of kit he needs, he just buys everything himself and gets somebody to install it. How to avoid that? You cannot just put "CCTV camera" or "lense" in qoute, customer wont take that, you must put "CCTV camera Samsung AA-555" etc. Whats your experience?

3RDIGLBL, As server, just for recording it can run even on Atom in some cases, but its all about client PC spec and live view, thats where you need crap load of CPU power. To display some 30 megapixel cameras live view at some 8fps - thats where fun starts. Their tech support should be able to answer this.

Hellou, what bull****, I did see that camera myself yesterday in front of me and showing on huge 40" screen. Also, I spoke to Arecont employee.

I have visited Arecont yesterday and saw this camera in real life on 40" plazma screen. Oh yes, image size is impressive. I did ask about low light sensitivity and what they told me: we combine 4 pixels into 1, so pixel is bigger, so it has the same sensitivity as our 5mpix camera. Also I did ask about 10 mpix lens, they said "just use any high res lens, should be fine". It will cost approx 20% more than 5mpix camera.

I need something like 250mb/sec writing. RAID0 could do that, but if one hdd fails, whole archieve is lost. RAID5 - low performance. How to solve this? Pre-motion recording CANNOT be disabled in NUOO, thats where a problem lies. 10 Arecont AV3100, 3.1mpix, 8fps.

RAID 10 is raid1 speed and raid0 mirroring combined? So, if I need 10TB for storage and it would be RAID10, then I will need 20TB total. Am I right?

Watched all of the ipacademy youtube videos. Yes, Mobotix is good, but IMO there is a lot of bluff. 1. Decentralised system, so you don't need powerful PC/server which is costly. There is not much cost difference IMO between buying expensive cameras and cheap PC VS buying cheap cameras and expensive PC. Decentralised Mobotix approach might be cost effective only on big systems with many cameras. PC cost is moved to expensive camera itself. 2. You don't need PC with NVR. Imagine retail shop with 8 cameras and NAS for recording. How are you going to watch live or recorded footage? You still need PC for it. 3. Stand alone recording and self contained DVR on microSD card. Come on guys, how much 3mpix video you can record on 4GB card? Not a lot. Yes, you can buy 32GB card, but price All cost effectiveness goes down the drain. 4. Software is NOT free, its included in camera`s price and cameras are expensive. 5. Cant really understand idea of dual sensor camera where one is 3mpix and other 1.3mpix for night view. If you can see number plates with 3mpix, then you wont see them with 1.3mpix. So, whats the point of having second sensor if its useless? I would like Mobotix installers comment on this. I might be wrong on my points
